Work Truck Week 2027 runs March 9-12 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. NTEA, which produces the event, splits the week into four pieces: the Future Truck Summit on March 9, the educational program March 9-11, the Ride & Drive March 10-11, and the Work Truck Show exhibit hall March 10-12. A team that needs the floor and nothing else can take one day of that week and leave the rest of it alone.
The Published Schedule, In The Organizer's Words
NTEA's Aug. 11, 2026 release carries four lines under the heading Work Truck Week 2027 schedule. March 9 is the Future Truck Summit. March 9-11 is the educational program. March 10-11 is the Work Truck Week Ride & Drive. March 10-12 is the Work Truck Show exhibit hall open.
Read against a 2027 calendar, March 9 is a Tuesday, March 10 a Wednesday, March 11 a Thursday and March 12 a Friday. The floor opens the day after the Summit and closes the week.
Future Truck Summit Replaces Green Truck Summit
The same release states that the 2027 event launches the Future Truck Summit on Tuesday, March 9, replacing the long-running Green Truck Summit. NTEA developed the new program with NAFA Fleet Management Association. The Summit keeps its own venue and its own shape: it is held at the JW Marriott Indianapolis on the Tuesday of Work Truck Week, the day before the exhibit hall opens, with a keynote address and general sessions in the morning and lunch followed by a choice of breakouts in the afternoon.
The event page adds the history. Green Truck Summit debuted in 2009 as a daylong event focused on hybrid vehicles and alternative fuels, and it grew to cover any technology that may affect commercial vehicle sustainability, productivity and efficiency. As Future Truck Summit, the program places increased emphasis on vehicle-specific technology, including sensors, ADAS, lightweighting, advanced composites and power management.
What The Week Covers
Work Truck Week describes itself as More Than a Trade Show and lists what it encompasses: The Work Truck Show, Future Truck Summit, the NTEA Annual Meeting, the Work Truck Week Ride & Drive and the educational program. The organizer reports 500+ exhibitors. The 2026 edition drew a verified 15,646 commercial vehicle industry professionals from 29 countries and all 50 U.S. states, by NTEA's own count.
NTEA was established in 1964 and represents more than 2,100 companies that manufacture, distribute, install, sell and repair commercial vehicles, truck bodies, truck equipment, trailers and accessories.
The One-Night Pattern
The exhibit hall closes the week on Friday, March 12. A team with a narrow agenda can build the trip around that closing day: arrive Thursday evening, work the floor Friday, head home. That is one night of lodging and one housekeeping turnover, against four nights on a full-week block.
The price comparison uses Engine's published par rates, the cheapest public price offered at the time of each search. Engine reports an Indianapolis average of $128 per night across 1.2M observations, with March at $122, five percent below the average. Four nights at the March figure totals $488. One night at the same figure is $122.
NTEA states that registration and housing open this fall. Neither the release nor the event home page publishes exhibit hall hours for 2027, so this piece prints no door time for any day of the show.
What A Day Slot Adds To The Week
Between the education days and the floor days there is a second option for a team that is local or already in town: a day-use room. hotelSlots books daytime slots in four windows, Morning 6AM-12PM, Afternoon 12PM-6PM, Evening 6PM-12AM and Overnight 12AM-6AM. The platform states that its rates run 30-75% less than nightly rates with $0 fees, across 103,857 hotels in 46 states, and a second platform page states the band as 40-60% less than overnight. Dayuse publishes an average of $87.43 for a day room in Indianapolis.
A full-day slot on Thursday, March 11 covers the educational program and the show floor in one day without a bed for the night. An evening slot covers a late session and a shower before the drive home.
Before You Book
The platform states that day-use inventory is limited by design, because a single room can only host so many daytime slots in one day, and that the best slots at the best properties fill first, especially weekday afternoons and airport-area locations. March 10, 11 and 12 are a Wednesday, a Thursday and a Friday, so the weekday-afternoon pattern applies to this week.
One platform page states that pool, gym, Wi-Fi and shower access are included in a day-use booking. Another states that Wi-Fi, a proper desk, gym access, pool access and parking can all vary by property. Check the listing for the specific property. The platform also states that a few states restrict day-use bookings under state travel laws and names FL, HI, IA and WA. Indiana is not among them.
Work Truck Week returns to the same venue in 2028 on March 7-10, by NTEA's published future dates. The association also lists March 6-9, 2029 and March 5-8, 2030.
