Two 7 a.m. starts in downtown Tampa

The Labor Law & Labor Arbitration Conference runs at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S Franklin St, Tampa, FL 33602. The City of Tampa event card reads Wed, Jan 27 2027, 7am to Thu, Jan 28 2027, 5pm. The card was updated 10/18/2026.

The organiser is the Labor Arbitration Institute, now run through the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution at Cornell University's ILR School. Its conference list carries Tampa on 27-28 January under "Conferences Coming Soon". No 2027 price and no session grid are published.

The same site still carries the February 2026 Tampa page, marked "This event has passed". That page names Ballroom D and a Thursday morning start.

What the building gives you free

Free Wi-Fi is available in all public areas and meeting rooms of the Tampa Convention Center, and outside at The Sail Plaza. Exhibitor internet in the Exhibit Halls is a separate daily service from SmartCity.

The building holds 600,000 square feet across four floors. The first floor carries Ballrooms A-D, Meeting Rooms 101-125, an exit to the Riverwalk and the Channel Entrance from Front Drive. The second floor carries East and West Registration, the WaterView Lounge, an outdoor escalator landing with tables and chairs, and the skywalk to the Embassy Suites. The third floor carries the East, West and Central Halls, a FedEx Business Center and a coffee bar serving Starbucks. The fourth floor carries Meeting Rooms 401-409 and Waterfront Meeting Rooms 412-419.

A registration desk, a business center and a coffee bar sit inside the same four floors. A delegate with a laptop open between sessions does not need a room for that hour.

The three hours before a day room opens

No day card on the Dayuse Tampa page opens before 10 a.m. in the read taken on 21 October 2026. A 7 a.m. start leaves three hours before any of them accepts a check-in.

The two downtown cards close at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The conference runs to 5 p.m. on both days, so the Hotel Flor window reaches the second close and the Aloft window stops an hour short of it.

Downtown day rates on 21 October 2026

Aloft Tampa Downtown, 100 W Kennedy Blvd at 0.6 miles from the venue, prices a day room at $109.00 with a $7.00 booking fee, $116.00 in total. The comparison nightly rate reads $250. Window: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hotel Flor Tampa Downtown, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, prices a day room at $139.00 with a $9.00 booking fee, $148.00 in total, against a $240 nightly. Window: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The property runs a complimentary shuttle inside a 3-mile radius at about 10 minutes. The venue lists the Floridan Palace at 905 N Florida Ave as 1 mile out.

The Westin Tampa Waterside, 725 S Harbour Island Blvd at 0.3 miles, prices a day room at $129.00 with a $9.00 booking fee, $138.00 in total, against a $330 nightly. Window: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Dayuse Tampa page returns 13 priced cards. Two carry Downtown. The rest sit in Westshore, Highland Pines, Brandon, near Busch Gardens and on St. Pete Beach. Distance decides.

The evening on the Riverwalk

The first floor opens straight onto the Riverwalk. The Sail Plaza sits outside the building with free Wi-Fi under the same venue line. The TECO Line Streetcar runs free through downtown, the Channel District and Ybor City every 15 minutes, and the Pirate Water Taxi stops on the downtown riverfront including the Convention Center.

A delegate who lands Tuesday and starts at 7 a.m. Wednesday does the Riverwalk on Tuesday evening. A delegate who closes at 5 p.m. Thursday does it Thursday before the flight.

The venue sits 16 minutes from Tampa International Airport by its own count.

Parking for the drive in

Front Drive at 333 S Franklin St holds 36 metered spaces at $4 an hour, open Monday to Sunday 8 a.m. to midnight. Overnight parking is not allowed. A 7 a.m. arrival sits outside that window by an hour.

The Convention Center garage at 141 E Brorein St holds 454 spaces with 11 ADA spaces and 2 EV chargers. The event rate reads $5.00 to $50.00. The non-event rate reads $3 per hour with an $18 daily maximum. Maximum height is 6 feet 6 inches.

Booking a Florida day room

hotelSlots states 46 states and 103,857+ hotels, then adds the line that applies here. A few states, FL, HI, IA and WA, restrict day-use bookings under state travel laws.

The platform sells four bands: morning 6 a.m. to noon, afternoon noon to 6 p.m., evening 6 p.m. to midnight, overnight midnight to 6 a.m. A 7 a.m. conference start falls inside the morning band.

Day rates move between reads on the same day. Recheck the card before you book, and read the booking fee separately from the day rate.
