Starpower National Talent Competition runs March 6 and 7, 2027, in Halls A-A1 at the Oregon Convention Center. The venue calendar carries the dates and the hall. The organiser publishes a rulebook and no timetable.
The 90-Minute Call
"Performers must arrive 90 minutes prior to their first scheduled performance time, within the exception of those performing within the first hour of the event." The rule sits under the Backstage section of the rulebook.
A second line moves the family earlier. "Routines must be checked in with the backstage manager 5 routines prior to their performance time. Once checked in, dancers must remain in the backstage area." Two lines then decide who waits where. Teachers may stay backstage to prepare students. No parent enters backstage without the director's approval.
Timing drifts. The rulebook states the event can run up to an hour ahead or behind, and it asks studios to track it. Starpower builds schedules 7 to 10 days out from the routines registered for that city. A 90-minute call on a show that runs an hour early puts a family in the building two and a half hours before the first number.
Five Bookings on One Saturday
The March 2027 calendar lists five events on 6 March. Jump Dance Convention holds the Oregon Ballroom from 5 to 7 March. Starpower holds Halls A-A1. Slam Dunk Cheer and Dance Championships holds Hall D across both days. "Abby's Closet" Prom Gown Giveaway holds Hall C. U.S. World Open Taekwondo Championships holds Hall E.
Every lobby in the building carries all five groups that Saturday. A family that needs a seat, a socket and a table books one of those lobbies or a room outside the building.
The Lobby as the Second Room
Complimentary Wi-Fi covers all lobbies and meeting rooms. The paid tier is $12 per day for Basic service and $50 per day for Business Class, charged to a credit card. The venue publishes no throughput figure for either tier.
Printing sits beside the welcome desk. The Guest Experience Marketplace, across from the MLK entrance, runs self-serve cloud printing and copying free in black and white on 8.5 by 11 inch paper.
Storage runs through LocketGo. Lockers stand in the MLK Lobby, the Holladay Lobby and the Ginkoberry Concourse, and the booking portal lists a one-day rental at $12.00 with tax included. A costume bag leaves the shoulder for the length of a performance block.
Five ATMs stand in the Pre-Function lobbies and the South Ginkoberry Concourse. A Reverse ATM left of the MLK welcome desk converts cash to a Visa card at no fee.
The Garage Underneath
The garage holds 800 spaces. Up to 18 hours costs $15 with no in-and-out privilege. Event entry carries a dynamic $15 to $25. The garage opens at 6:00 a.m. and bans overnight parking. Clearance is 7 feet on P1 and 9 feet on P2. The booths take cards only.
A Saturday that opens at 7 a.m. for the 90-minute call and closes with an evening awards block runs 14 hours inside one $15 payment. Two drives out of the garage cost two payments.
When the Lobby Stops Working
A day room answers the case the lobby cannot serve. hotelslots.org books day-use rooms in four slots: morning, afternoon, evening and overnight. The site lists 103,857 hotels across 46 states with no booking fee.
The Dayuse Portland page returned 19 priced cards on 19 October 2026, and eight sit within 1.6 km of the venue. Royal Sonesta offers five windows running 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at $110 against a $173 nightly rate, 1.38 km out. Jupiter Original offers 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 to 11 p.m. at $89 against $150, 0.69 km out. Jupiter Next offers 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m. at $123 against $209, 0.71 km out.
Prices are the card figures before booking fees. Each card carries a maximum booking fee between $6 and $10. Distances are straight-line from the venue coordinates at 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.
What the Organiser Leaves Open
No Portland timetable exists yet. The venue record carries a booked span of 6:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on both days. That is the hall booking, and it is not a door time.
Two money rules matter before March. The deposit is $10 per routine, non-refundable, due by 1 October 2026. Finalised routine information is due 30 days out, which is 3 February 2027. The rulebook publishes no spectator admission price, so the door figure comes from the organiser at 301.870.9550.
