Seven live nights on Clement Street
The 2026 San Francisco Short Film Festival runs Oct. 15 to 22 at the 4-Star Theater, 2200 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94121. San Francisco IndieFest lists it as the 21st San Francisco Short Film Festival.
The 4-Star holds 120 seats for a screening, the capacity the festival's ticketing platform publishes for the venue. Seven programmes across seven nights make 840 seats for the week. On 6 October 2026, 117 of those seats were sold and 723 were open.
Doors, curtains and the late block
Opening Night plays Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8:15 p.m. Funny LOL plays Friday, Oct. 16 at 8:30 p.m. An Animated World plays Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8:30 p.m. True Stories plays Sunday, Oct. 18 at 5 p.m. Spontaneous Connections plays Monday, Oct. 19 at 8:15 p.m. Spine-tingling Stories plays Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 8:15 p.m. Closing Night plays Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 8:15 p.m.
Each programme runs two hours. Six of the seven end at 10:15 p.m. or 10:30 p.m. Sunday alone starts at 5 p.m., and it ends at 7 p.m.
The venue sits on Clement Street in the Richmond District. The theater's own operator prints the same address, 2200 Clement St, 94121.
The gap from noon to the 8:15 p.m. curtain
A guest whose overnight stay ends at noon and whose programme screens at 8:15 p.m. faces eight hours with no room. hotelSlots sells four fixed slots: Morning 6 a.m. to noon, Afternoon noon to 6 p.m., Evening 6 p.m. to midnight, and Overnight midnight to 6 a.m. One day-use room runs "typically 6 to 8 hours", in the platform's own wording.
The Afternoon slot covers noon to 6 p.m. The Evening slot starts at 6 p.m. and runs to midnight, which brackets a 10:15 p.m. curtain. hotelSlots writes of the slot: "Check out when your slot ends — pay only for the hours you used."
Sunday the 18th inverts the day. A 5 p.m. start leaves the afternoon open for work and the evening free.
What a productive afternoon looks like
hotelSlots describes the window in its own guide: "A four-hour afternoon window is perfect for a shower, a nap, and a focused stretch of work." Its day-use page states that pool, gym, Wi-Fi and shower access are included. Its short-stay guide states that Wi-Fi, a desk, gym access, pool access and parking "can all vary" by property. Read the individual listing before booking a slot.
The same guide states that day-use inventory is limited by design, and that the best slots fill first "especially weekday afternoons and airport-area locations". The festival week runs Thursday, Oct. 15 through Wednesday, Oct. 21, which places five weekday afternoons inside the window.
Twelve programmes in the room
Twelve virtual programmes open Oct. 15 and close Oct. 22. A single virtual admission costs $10.00. The twelve are Opening Night Program + Q&A, Funny LOL + Q&A, An Animated World, True Stories 1 + Q&A, True Stories 2, Spontaneous Connections, Spine-tingling Stories, Closing Night Program + Q&A, Let's Dance + Q&A, Nightmares, Ghosts, and Weirdness, Medley of Shorts, and Take The Shot.
The virtual window covers the same eight days as the live run. A day-use slot that carries a desk and Wi-Fi gives the guest one address for the afternoon work and the evening programme.
Two directory members in the district
hotelSlots lists 562 hotels in San Francisco. Seal Rock Inn, 545 Point Lobos Avenue, 94121, and Geary Parkway Motel, 4750 Geary Boulevard, 94118, which the directory rates two stars, both sit in the Richmond District. The directory prints a name, a street address and, where it has one, a star tier. It publishes no day rate and no distance.
OpenStreetMap routing measures the Seal Rock Inn address 1.6 miles from 2200 Clement St and the Geary Parkway Motel address 0.8 miles away. Both are free-flow driving estimates, and the directory publishes neither figure.
The festival film guide lists 88 films. The seven live programmes carry 57 of them.
What a seat costs, and what a pass costs
A single General Admission seat for a live screening costs $15.00. A Live+Virtual Screenings Pass costs $95.00 and covers the live screenings and the virtual programmes. A Virtual Screenings Pass costs $65.00. A single virtual admission costs $10.00. Seven live screenings at $15.00 each come to $105.00. San Francisco IndieFest lists an Industry Pass and a Local Filmmaker Pass with no published price.
Day rates around the city
Dayuse publishes an average price of $119.61 for a day room in San Francisco, read 6 October 2026. Its San Francisco cards carry addresses in Yerba Buena, Union Square, Chinatown, Lower Nob Hill and Tenderloin. No card on the page carries a Richmond District or Clement Street address, and the page's district links list those five districts.
hotelSlots publishes two discount bands: 30 to 75 percent less than the nightly rate at the same hotel, and 40 to 60 percent less than overnight. Its home page counts 103,857 hotels across 46 states and states $0 fees. Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington restrict day-use bookings under state travel laws, and California is not among the four.
Rates, seat counts and slot windows move. Recheck the listing and the slot before booking.
