ScanFair runs its 42nd year on 12 and 13 December at the Oregon Convention Center. The venue card gives Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Halls A-A1. Early-bird tickets close on 30 November.
The floor carries Nordic food and drink vendors, a crafts and games hall, an entertainment programme and community organisations. Tickets sell through Nordic Northwest's own event system.
Seven hours on the Saturday
Saturday opens at 10 and closes at 5. Seven hours covers the whole market.
Sunday opens at 10 and closes at 4. An evening flight or a drive home fits inside the same day.
That settles the room count. A visitor who arrives Saturday morning and leaves Sunday evening needs one night. A second night buys a Sunday morning the market does not use.
Jupiter Original sells Saturday at $150 a night. One night holds the visit. A second night adds $150.
Day rooms for the hours around the hall
A day room covers the hours around the door: a check-in for the bags before 10 a.m., a desk after the close. The Dayuse Portland shelf priced 19 cards at 17:22 UTC on 18 October 2026. These windows cover the market hours.
Hotel Zags, 515 SW Clay Street: $106 against $200, 47 percent lower, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 2.5 road miles by OSRM routing. Hyatt Centric Downtown, 601 SW 11th Avenue: $106 against $200, 47 percent lower, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 1.9 road miles. Kimpton Hotel Vintage, 422 SW Broadway: $164 against $259, 37 percent lower, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and noon to 7 p.m. Jupiter Original, 800 East Burnside Street: $89 against $150, 41 percent lower, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., 0.8 road miles.
Sunday carries different inventory. Jupiter Next, 900 East Burnside Street, sells 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at $123 against $209, 42 percent lower, and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., 0.8 road miles. Hotel Lucia, 400 SW Broadway, sells 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at $118 against $219, 47 percent lower, 1.5 road miles.
Each of those six properties sits in the hotelSlots Portland directory, which lists 278 entries. Dayuse marks every day figure as including fees. hotelSlots states no booking fee on its own bookings and payment at the hotel.
Wi-Fi tiers and the 6 a.m. garage
Wireless runs free in all lobbies and meeting rooms. Two paid tiers sit above it: Basic at $12 a day and Business Class at $50 a day, charged to a card with support on site. The venue publishes no bandwidth figure for either tier. An upgrade price buys a speed the venue does not state.
The garage generally opens at 6 a.m., four hours before the Saturday door. Entry runs $15 for up to 18 hours with no in and out privileges. Event days take a dynamic $15 to $25 at the gate. The venue does not publish which rate applies to ScanFair, and it does not guarantee a space. Overnight parking is prohibited.
Halls A-A1 and the door
MAX light rail stops 300 times a day near the front door. The Streetcar A Loop calls at NE MLK and Hoyt every 15 minutes. TriMet bus line 6 stops at NE MLK and Holladay. The venue counts 566 metered spaces within three blocks and advises public transport on busy days. The center sits eight miles from PDX.
The building is cashless. The parking booths take cards and touchless payment only.
Booking the slot
hotelSlots sells four windows: Morning 6 a.m. to noon, Afternoon noon to 6 p.m., Evening 6 p.m. to midnight, and Overnight midnight to 6 a.m. Oregon is one of 46 states the platform covers. State travel law restricts four: Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington.
A visitor who wants the room from the 10 a.m. door through an 8 p.m. dinner books Morning and Afternoon, or takes a property selling 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. outright. The market closes at 5.
