The Oregon Arts and Culture Awards and Summit runs December 1 and 2, 2026, at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. The venue card names Portland Ballroom 251 and 257-258. The organiser runs an awards celebration on Tuesday, December 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and the summit on Wednesday, December 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Prices run $129 for the two together, $89 for the celebration alone and $69 for the summit alone.
Six hours for $69
Wednesday is one six-hour block in one ballroom. The programme convenes cultural organizations, funders, Tribal representatives, policymakers and statewide partners. It carries the release of a Creative Economy Report and breakout sessions on education and cross-sector work. The Oregon Cultural Trust marks 25 years in the same room.
A day room costs more than the ticket
Wednesday is already paid for at $69. A day-use room adds $89 to $107 to that.
Jupiter Original runs $89 against a $150 nightly comparison on 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 0.42 miles out. Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland runs $106 against $200 on 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., 1.11 miles out. Royal Sonesta Portland Downtown runs $107 against $170 on 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., 0.90 miles out. All three come from a read of the Dayuse Portland page on October 19, 2026, which carried 19 priced cards.
The room buys a shower after the drive, a desk before the first session and a place for the bag.
What the building supplies at no charge
The center publishes complimentary Wi-Fi in all lobbies and meeting rooms. Above that sit Basic at $12 per day and Business Class at $50 per day, both on a credit card with support on site. Self-serve black-and-white printing and copying at the Guest Experience Marketplace is free.
Storage is rented by the locker. LocketGo rents salmon-coloured lockers in the MLK Lobby, the Holladay Lobby and the Ginkoberry Concourse, reserved through a mobile device and a credit card. The building takes cards and touchless payment only. Five ATMs serve the Pre-Function lobbies and the South Ginkoberry Concourse, and a reverse ATM left of the welcome desk converts cash to a Visa card in one load with no fee.
The overnight gap
The celebration ends at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and the summit opens at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. Twelve and a half hours sit between them. hotelSlots sells four slots: Morning 6 a.m. to noon, Afternoon noon to 6 p.m., Evening 6 p.m. to midnight, and Overnight midnight to 6 a.m.
A guest who needs the night books a hotel. A guest who needs the morning of the 2nd finds the earliest downtown window opening at 7:00 a.m. at the Royal Sonesta, and the only 5:00 a.m. card is the Ramada by Wyndham Portland at $91 against $200 on 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., 4.82 miles out. Both come from the same 19-card set.
What the 3:00 p.m. finish opens
Four published windows run past the closing hour. Royal Sonesta sells 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at $107. Jupiter Original sells 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at $89. Jupiter Next sells 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at $123. The Nines sells 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at $159.
The Nines and the Royal Sonesta start at 1:00 p.m., two hours before the summit closes. A delegate who books either gets a desk and a shower at 3:00 p.m. and the room until 7:00 or 9:00. Jupiter Original costs $89 and opens at 5:00 p.m.
The venue sits eight miles from Portland International Airport, a figure the parking and directions page states twice.
Arriving
The garage opens at 6:00 a.m. Standard entry is $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges, and event days carry a dynamic $15 to $25 at the gate. Overnight parking is prohibited. MAX stops 300 times a day near the front door, the Streetcar A Loop arrives every 15 minutes, and 566 metered spaces sit within three blocks.
Booking the room
hotelSlots states that the service is free to use, that it charges no booking fees, and that the guest pays the hotel directly. It lists 103,857 hotels across 46 states and sells day-use rates at 30 to 75 percent below the nightly rate. Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington restrict day-use bookings under state travel law, and Oregon is not on that list.
The network's Portland directory lists 278 hotels. The Lloyd District names closest to the ballroom, the Hyatt Regency at 375 NE Holladay St and the DoubleTree at 1000 NE Multnomah St, publish no day rate. The priced cards sit 0.42 to 1.32 miles out.
Dayuse prints a maximum booking fee on each card, between $5 and $10 in this set. Read both figures before choosing a room.
