Combine week stays in Indianapolis

The NFL Scouting Combine will stay in Indianapolis in 2027 and 2028, the league announced on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, per Colts.com. The combine has been held in Indianapolis every year since 1987, and the city's agreement was set to expire after the 2026 edition.

The 2026 combine ran Feb. 23 to March 2 at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium. Fans could attend programming between Feb. 26 and March 1, including the free NFL Combine Experience in the South Lot of Lucas Oil Stadium and Inside Look, which let visitors watch draft hopefuls take part in on-field athletic testing drills such as the 40-yard dash inside the stadium. Colts.com pointed fans to the NFL OnePass app for information. The 2025 combine generated a record $9.26 million in economic impact and drew more than 30,000 visitors and fans.

Two venues and a gap in the middle of the day

Combine week splits its public programming between an outdoor fan zone in the South Lot and indoor testing inside Lucas Oil Stadium. A local attendee who wants both has hours between sessions and no room to fall back on. A day-use booking covers that gap: a block of daytime hours, typically 6 to 8 hours, at the platform's published day rate.

Colts.com gives the fan window as Feb. 26 to March 1 and names the two attractions. It publishes no daily opening or closing hour, so confirm each day's schedule through the NFL OnePass app before you plan around it.

A base to work and reset

hotelSlots states that day-use guests get the same room types and amenities as overnight guests, including Wi-Fi, TV, bathroom and room service, and that each room carries the amenities the property lists. Its short-stay guide tells a guest to check the property's own list before confirming, because Wi-Fi, a desk, gym access, pool access and parking all vary by property.

Slots run Morning 6AM-12PM, Afternoon 12PM-6PM, Evening 6PM-12AM and Overnight 12AM-6AM. The platform lets you book one slot or combine several for full-day coverage.

Downtown rooms and the skywalk

The Indiana Convention Center's downtown fact block lists 7,100 hotel rooms, 4,700 of them connected to the convention center by skywalk, 200 restaurants within walking distance, and 15 minutes to Indianapolis International Airport. The venue states that more than half of downtown's 7,100+ rooms sit within blocks of the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium.

The hotelSlots Indianapolis directory lists these downtown properties, with addresses as the directory prints them: Omni Severin Hotel, 40 West Jackson Place; Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites, 120 West Market Street; Embassy Suites by Hilton Indianapolis - Downtown, 110 West Washington Street; Staybridge Suites Indianapolis Downtown-Convention Center By IHG, 535 S. West Street; and TownePlace Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown, 629 Russell Avenue. The directory header reads 273 hotels available in Indianapolis while the same page's body copy reads 123. Both are the platform's own counts.

The directory publishes no walk time or distance for that set, so treat the addresses as a starting list and check your own route to the South Lot and the stadium gates.

What a day room costs in Indianapolis

Dayuse publishes an average day-room price of $87.43 in Indianapolis and advertises up to 75 percent off an overnight stay. Engine reports a $128 average nightly rate in Indianapolis across 1.2 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, with February at $107 and March at $122, the two months that bracket combine week. Engine ranks the market 39th of 50 and 14 percent below the $148 median in its set. Its figures are par rates, the cheapest public price at the time of each search.

hotelSlots publishes three discount bands: 30-75 percent off nightly rates on its home page, 40-60 percent less than overnight on its day-use page, and roughly 40 to 60 percent of a nightly figure in its editorial guide. Each is a platform-published figure. The platform states it is free to use with no booking fees and no commission markup, and that you pay the hotel directly.

Booking notes for combine week

Dayuse states that the earliest arrival and latest departure times on an offer cannot be changed, and that the arrival time entered at booking is only indicative. Its bookings cancel free until the last minute, with no prepayment, and payment happens at the hotel.

Confirm the inclusions. hotelSlots states on its day-use page that pool, gym, Wi-Fi and shower access are included, and its short-stay guide states that Wi-Fi, a desk, gym access, pool access and parking can all vary by property. That guide also states that day-use inventory is limited by design and that the best slots finish first, especially weekday afternoons and airport-area locations.

State rules matter too. hotelSlots lists Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington as states that restrict day-use bookings under state travel laws, and its seller-of-travel notice states that it cannot process booking requests from residents of, or for travel to, those four states while it registers as a travel seller there. Indiana is not on that list.

Combine week concentrates demand downtown, and the 2025 edition drew more than 30,000 visitors and fans. Book the slot before the fan schedule lands.
