Five mornings on a four-hour clock

The Miami-Dade County Fair opens its gates to Miami-Dade County students on five School Field Trip Days each spring. The 2027 fair runs March 18 to April 11 and closes March 29-30 and April 5-6. The field trip page fixes one window for all five days: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Admission is free for students, teachers and chaperones inside that window. The grounds sit at 10901 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33165. The office number is 305.223.7060.

Each date carries its own grades and ride list

Friday, March 19 takes elementary grades 3 through 5 from every region, with all midway rides open except Kiddieland and Kiddieland Too. Friday, April 2 takes pre-K, kindergarten and grades 1 through 2 from every region, with Kiddieland, Kiddieland Too and select midway rides. Wednesday, April 7 takes middle school grades 6 through 8 from the Central region. Thursday, April 8 takes the same grades from the North and South regions. Friday, April 9 takes exceptional students from every region, with select rides at reduced speeds and limited concessions.

Three of the five dates fall on a Friday. The other two fall on a Wednesday and a Thursday.

What the four hours remove

The page lists what the window excludes. Entertainment shows stay closed. Private vehicles, backpacks and strollers are not permitted. Wheelchair, stroller, scooter and wagon rentals are not available during field trips.

The April 2 group covers pre-K and the two youngest grades. A chaperone on that date walks the grounds with no stroller and no backpack, and the rides open to that age group are the Kiddieland ones.

Rides cost $15, and the meal deal runs at one counter

Admission is free during field trip hours. A Field Trip Unlimited Rides Wristband is required for access to the rides. The price is $15 per person. Sales open November 27, 2026.

The Field Trip Meal Deal is available only at the Fair Expo Grille. It carries one slice of cheese pizza or a hot dog, plus juice. Group pricing and orders run through info@fairexpo.com.

Second and third grade classes can book Howdy Tours on Wednesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 1, 2027, each tour running about an hour inside the same morning window. Student projects hang in Arnold Hall, and The Barn and The Garden carry the agriculture exhibits.

The morning slot is the one that fits

A chaperone who lives outside Miami-Dade County drives to a 9 AM gate. hotelSlots sells day-use rooms in four fixed slots: Morning 6 AM to 12 PM, Afternoon 12 PM to 6 PM, Evening 6 PM to 12 AM and Overnight 12 AM to 6 AM. The Morning slot closes an hour before the gate does.

The day-rate cards, read on 2026-10-18, carry these Miami windows. Wyndham Garden Miami International Airport lists 8 AM to 2 PM at $79, marked 61 percent below its $200 nightly rate. Atrium Hotel Miami lists 8 AM to 2 PM at $59, 58 percent below $140. Clarion Inn & Suites Miami International Airport lists 9 AM to 4 PM at $74. Holiday Inn Express Miami Airport Blue Lagoon Area lists 9 AM to 4 PM at $75. The Miami page carries an average day rate of $113.76.

A routing check on 2026-10-18 put that airport cluster about nine miles and 20 minutes from the grounds. An 8 AM start covers a 9 AM gate. A hold that runs to 2 PM covers the return to the car and the drive home with the group.

Florida sits on the restricted list

hotelSlots covers 46 states with 103,857+ hotels offering day-use rooms. Its home page FAQ reads: A few states (FL, HI, IA, WA) restrict day-use bookings under state travel laws. Its Florida directory path returns a 404 with an empty body. The windows and rates above come from dayuse.com, which publishes the city average and each property window. Confirm the rule with the property before any card is charged.

The order to book in

Pick the date first. Grades 3 through 5 go March 19, the youngest grades go April 2, and the middle school split runs April 7 and 8. Buy the wristband from November 27 and place the meal order through info@fairexpo.com.

Then hold the room against the 9 AM gate. Ask for a Morning slot and confirm the checkout hour in writing. The fair sets five dates and one four-hour window. The room is the part a chaperone controls.
