Sixteen Hours From Ticket Office to Close
The ISSMA State Marching Band Finals take place November 7, 2026 at Lucas Oil Stadium, 500 South Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis. The venue lists the day from 9:30 am to 11:59 pm. The ticket office opens at 7:45 AM. The North and West gates open at 9:00 AM. The first band steps off at 9:30 AM.
This is the 53rd year for the event. 42 Indiana high school marching bands perform. Lucas Oil Stadium has hosted the finals every year since the building opened.
The Band Schedule Is Not Posted Yet
The stadium page sends readers to www.issma.net for the participating band schedule. ISSMA's site lists 2026 performance schedules for the Festival Class, the Scholastic Prelims and Open Class Invitational, and the Open Class Regionals. It carries no state finals grid.
Families know the first step-off at 9:30 AM and the 11:59 PM close. The middle of the day stays open, so the plan runs around the building rather than around a band time.
Tickets and Entry Rules
ISSMA states that printed tickets are not used for admission. Every ticket goes to a smartphone and must be shown at the entrance gate. ISSMA encourages advance purchase. Tickets are not returnable once bought.
ISSMA publishes a ticket sheet for the finals. Ticketmaster carries advance sales and adds a per-ticket fee. The Lucas Oil Stadium ticket office sells advance tickets in person only, on Fridays from 9 am to 5 pm EST, with no additional fee, by credit card with photo ID matching the card. The building takes no cash and no checks. On the day of the event, tickets are sold only at the Southeast Ticket Office. Ticketmaster caps an order at 50 tickets. Band families can buy through their director under a participating-school group purchase.
The stadium is a cashless facility. The NFL Clear Bag Policy applies to every patron. Children under 3 carried in arms enter free.
Food and Leaving the Building
Lucas Oil Stadium prohibits guests from bringing in food and beverage, with an exception for guests who have special medical or dietary needs. The stadium states it cannot store guests' medications, food or beverages. Its prohibited-items list names food not dispensed by Lucas Oil Stadium concessionaires. More than 160 permanent and portable concession stands operate inside, all cashless.
Pass outs for this event rest with the promoter. The stadium policy states pass outs may be available for non-Colts events at the promoter's discretion. Ask at the gate before you plan on a return.

A Morning window covers the 7:45 AM ticket office and the opening block of bands. An Afternoon window covers the middle of the day. An Evening window covers the awards block ahead of the 11:59 PM close. A family that arrives for the first step-off and stays for the last award needs the Afternoon window as its base.
