Ten days, two buildings, one long day at the Fairgrounds
The Indianapolis Home Show runs January 15 to 24, 2027 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, and it fills two buildings: the Expo Hall and the West Pavilion. Doors open at 10 a.m. on all ten days. The halls close at 8 p.m. on the two Fridays and the two Saturdays, at 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and at 5 p.m. on both Sundays. The address is 1202 East 38th Street, at the intersection of Fall Creek and 38th Street.
Two buildings change the shape of a visit. One show ticket covers the day, and a day-use room covers the hours outside the halls.
The $5 after-5 window and the Evening slot
The cheapest way onto the floor is narrow. Monday through Thursday, January 18 to 21, the box office sells $5 admission after 5 p.m. The halls stay open to 7 p.m. on those four days, so the discount buys two hours for a third of the $15 door price.
hotelSlots sells day-use rooms in four blocks: Morning 6 a.m. to noon, Afternoon noon to 6 p.m., Evening 6 p.m. to midnight, and Overnight midnight to 6 a.m. One block covers a visit. Two or more blocks combine into full-day coverage. The Evening block opens an hour into the cheap window and runs five hours past the last hall closing. A visitor who drives in after work can walk the floor until 7 p.m. and keep the room until midnight.
A base between the two halls
hotelSlots describes a day-use room as a quiet, professional space with reliable Wi-Fi, a desk and ergonomic seating. It names gym, coffee and restaurant breaks between calls as part of the case, and the reservation is a private hotel room for the length of your slot.
A day-use room typically runs six to eight hours and carries no overnight stay. You check out when the slot ends, and you pay for the hours you used. The platform states that the best slots at the best properties fill first, especially weekday afternoons.
Amenity access varies by listing
The hotelSlots day-use page states that pool, gym, Wi-Fi and shower access are included. The platform’s own day-pass article states that inclusions vary by property and lists pool, fitness center and lounge access as typical. Confirm the amenities on the specific offer the property returns.
Parking, and one stale line on the FAQ
The show’s FAQ answers parking with $10 per vehicle and ample parking in the Expo Hall parking lot, plus parking in the infield and across 38th Street. The same FAQ carries a free-parking line dated Monday through Wednesday, January 19 to 21, 2026. That year sits outside the 2027 run, the named weekdays miss January 18 to 21, 2027, and the line credits a sponsor it never names. Budget the $10 and read the lot signs on arrival.
Hero Day supplies the one free-parking arrangement the show states plainly. Opening day, Friday January 15, brings free admission and free parking for active military, veterans, police, fire, nurses, doctors and first responders on valid ID.
What a day room costs against a night
Dayuse publishes $87.43 as the average price of a day room in Indianapolis. Engine publishes $128 as the average nightly rate in the city across 1.2 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, and its month-by-month table puts January at $114 and February at $107, the cheapest month of the year. hotelSlots publishes its day rates as typically 30 to 75 percent below the nightly rate at the same hotel, and its day-use page puts the gap at 40 to 60 percent less than overnight. Each figure is a published platform or market number.
Day-use properties and driving distance to the Fairgrounds
The hotelSlots Indianapolis directory lists 273 properties in its own count. The distances below are road measurements on the OSRM driving profile from each property’s published street address to the Fairgrounds, read on 23 September 2026. Indy Hostel at 4903 Winthrop Avenue is 1.5 miles out. Marblehead at 3310 North Meridian Street is 2.3 miles out. Hotel Broad Ripple at 6520 East Westfield Boulevard is 3.6 miles out. Aloft at 136 East Market Street is 4.9 miles out. Shadeland Inn at 3525 North Shadeland Avenue is 6.1 miles out. Keystone Inn & Suites at 9104 Keystone Crossing Boulevard is 6.8 miles out.
Those figures are free-flow road distances, so traffic will move the drive. Rates and slot hours are set per property and per date. Read the returned offer before you commit to a block.
Other days worth timing
Senior Day, Tuesday January 19, is $5 admission for guests 65 and over with no online tickets. Teacher Day, Sunday January 17, is free for teachers and school staff on valid ID. Adults pay $15 at the door or $13 online, and children 12 and under are free. Menards sells a $7.50 single adult ticket from November 16, 2026 in stores only, and Ace Hardware coupons available from January 3, 2027 take half off the box office price. The FAQ sends anyone who wants a second day to the show manager in the show office.
Booking the slot
hotelSlots is free to use, carries no booking fees and no commission markup, and the traveler pays the hotel directly. For a ten-day January show at a two-building Fairgrounds site, the afternoon and evening blocks line up with the doors. Pick the slot against your own arrival, and confirm the day rate, the slot hours and the amenity access on the offer the property returns.
