IMTC 2027 Friday Pass: $450 for Three Hall Hours

The International Mass Timber Conference 2027 opens at the Oregon Convention Center for an eleventh year in Portland. The venue card lists the booking as March 17 to 20 across Halls A, A1, B, C, D and E. The organiser prints March 16 to 19, Tuesday through Friday. Tuesday carries building tours and exhibitor move-in.

Friday, March 19 is the last of the three single-day passes and the smallest one. It costs $450 and covers all Friday education and keynote sessions, breakfast, coffee through 1 p.m. and exhibit hall access from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Three hours of floor time sit inside that price.

The Friday clock

Breakfast runs 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. The Friday keynote runs 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. The morning conference breaks into four tracks from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The exhibit hall opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 1 p.m. The Women in Timber Power Hour runs 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. inside that hall block, and exhibitor move-out begins at 1:01 p.m.

A Friday attendee who arrives for breakfast reaches three clocks before the floor opens. The hall then gives three hours, and the Women in Timber session takes one of them. Two hours of open floor remain.

What the other day passes buy

The Thursday pass costs $825. It covers all Thursday sessions, breakfast and lunch, a doughnut and coffee hour from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., the Thursday afternoon networking reception from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. inside the exhibit hall, and hall access from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. That is seven and a half hall hours.

The Wednesday pass costs $700 and opens the hall from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. only, alongside the welcome reception that fills the same window. Two and a half hall hours sit in that price.

Divided by hall hours, Friday runs $150.00 an hour, Thursday $110.00 and Wednesday $280.00. Friday carries the lowest total outlay and Thursday the lower hourly figure. The $375 gap between Thursday and Friday buys four and a half more hall hours, at $83.33 an hour.

The full pass costs $997.50 and covers Wednesday through Friday, including breakfast on Thursday and Friday and lunch on Wednesday and Thursday. Exhibitor and sponsor passes cost $699, educator, government and non-profit passes $725 and student passes $295. Three or more passes bought for employees of one company on a single order take a further 10 percent off each pass.

The Thursday floor and the Friday floor

Thursday carries the deeper exhibit programme. The hall runs seven and a half hours, the conference tracks run twice, and the 2:30 p.m. happy hour turns the last three hall hours into a reception.

The Women in Timber Power Hour returns for a fifth year in 2027 and stays free of charge to attendees. The organiser describes it as an inclusive space for women, non-binary, female-identifying individuals and allies in the timber industry.

Where the room sits

The organiser names MCI USA as the only official housing provider. Three hotels sit in that block, priced from $189 at the DoubleTree, $249 at Hotel Eastlund and $249 at the Hyatt Regency.

Six properties sit within half a mile of the convention center doors, measured straight-line from the venue, and three of them hold the event block. The Hyatt Regency Portland at 375 NE Holladay Street sits 0.15 miles out. Hotel Eastlund at 1021 NE Grand Avenue sits 0.17 miles out. The Courtyard by Marriott Portland Downtown/Convention Center at 435 NE Wasco Street sits 0.31 miles out. KEX at 100 NE Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard sits 0.32 miles out. The Crowne Plaza at 1441 NE 2nd Avenue sits 0.37 miles out. The DoubleTree at 1000 NE Multnomah Street sits 0.48 miles out.

None of those six carried a published day rate on the October 20, 2026 Dayuse Portland read. Jupiter Original, 0.48 miles from the hall, lists $83 against a $150 nightly comparison, a 45 percent reduction, with windows of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Royal Sonesta Portland Downtown at 0.91 miles lists $100 against $170, with a 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. window among five. Jupiter Next at 0.51 miles lists $115 against $209. The Nines at 0.96 miles lists $149 against $450, with a window from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Window times decide the day. Jupiter Original opens at 10 a.m., the same minute the hall opens, so the slot covers the floor and misses the 7:45 a.m. keynote. The Royal Sonesta window that opens at 7 a.m. covers breakfast, the keynote and six hall hours.

One name needs care. Courtyard by Marriott Portland East appears in the same Dayuse set at $74, and it sits 8.97 miles from the doors. It is a different property from the Courtyard on NE Wasco Street.

Before the doors open

The venue runs cashless. The garage holds 800 spaces, opens at 6 a.m., charges $15 for up to 18 hours and applies a dynamic rate of $15 to $25 at entry on event days. The MAX light rail stops 300 times a day at the front door. Complimentary Wi-Fi covers lobbies and meeting rooms, with paid tiers at $12 and $50 per day. LocketGo lockers sit in three lobbies and reserve through a phone and a card. Two first aid rooms sit in the Exhibit Hall A Lobby and outside Exhibit Hall E, and an EMT covers events above 1,000 attendees on house phone extension 7849.

The pass itself sets the plan. Friday sells as a single-day product with a three hour hall window and a $450 price.
