A Single Saturday At The IHSAA Boys Finals

Indiana's boys swimming and diving season ends in Indianapolis on the last weekend of February, and the state finals run two days. The IHSAA publishes the window as Feb. 26-27, 2027 in its 2026-27 Boys Swimming & Diving Dates block. The second day falls on a Saturday. For a family or a coach who attends one day of that meet, the room question is a daytime question.

What The Published Dates Say

The IHSAA page carries two date blocks. The current tournament series reads Feb. 19-28, 2026. The block headed 2026-27 Boys Swimming & Diving Dates reads Nov. 9 First Practice, Nov. 23 First Contest, Feb. 18, 20 Sectionals, Feb. 23 Diving Regionals, and Feb. 26-27 State Finals. The coming finals sit inside the second block, so the year is 2027.

The venue confirms the same two days from its own side. The IU Natatorium events calendar lists 26-27 IHSAA Boys Swimming & Diving Championships in its February 2027 block. The same month carries 5-7 Jaguar Aquatics Winter Invitational, 12-13 IHSAA Girls Swimming & Diving Championships and 17-20 Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships. The calendar carries one standing note: events are subject to change, updated 9/2/2026.

Where The Meet Is Held

The IU Natatorium sits at 901 West New York Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202, on the IU Indianapolis campus. The venue describes itself as the largest indoor aquatic facility in the United States, with a seating capacity of 4,700. It has hosted events ranging from high school meets to national meets including the Olympic Trials, and more than 100,000 competitive swimmers and fans attend each year.

The One-Day Pass And What It Buys

The venue sells a one-day product at $6.00 under the heading Sports Complex Membership. The ladder reads 1 day $6.00, 15 visit $55.00, 30 visit $105.00 and 40 visit $135.00. It covers the pools and the IU Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium, it is available only at the Natatorium Pro Shop Desk, and it expires two years from purchase. Passes are bought through Fusion. Questions go to the Pro Shop Desk at 317-274-0336.

The $6.00 covers swimming only. A seat at the finals is a separate purchase, and neither the IHSAA nor the Natatorium has published a spectator ticket price for the 2027 state finals, so this piece prints none. The venue's discount list takes 10 percent off classes and Pro Shop merchandise for IU Indianapolis faculty, staff and students with a Crimson Card, and for IU Health employees, military personnel, veterans and anyone 60 or older with ID.

Lockers, Showers And The Rule That Matters

The venue publishes its visitor rule plainly on the lap swim page. Lockers are available for your visit, you must provide your own lock, belongings must be taken with you daily, and locks will be cut off. Showers are available for use.

That rule is the practical reason a day room works on a meet weekend. A swimmer who races in a morning session and again later the same day, or a family that arrives with a bag of clothes, needs a locked place for the hours between. A hotel day slot provides it without a second night on the bill.

What The Meet Schedule Does Not Say

No session time is published. The IHSAA page lists Sectionals, Diving Regionals and State Finals as plain entries with no start hour. The Natatorium calendar gives dates for every meet on it and no clock time for any of them. The order of the preliminary and final sessions belongs to the host, so confirm it before booking a slot that has a fixed end.

What A Day Room Costs In Indianapolis

hotelSlots runs four time slots: Morning 6AM-12PM, Afternoon 12PM-6PM, Evening 6PM-12AM and Overnight 12AM-6AM. The platform states that day-use rates run 30-75% less than nightly rates, with $0 fees, across 103,857 hotels in 46 states. A second platform page states the band as 40-60% less than overnight.

For a nightly comparison, Engine publishes an Indianapolis average of $128 per night across 1.2M par-rate observations, taken from searches made 10 to 180 days before check-in. Its monthly table puts February at $107, which is 16 percent below the average and the cheapest month of the year. Dayuse publishes an average of $87.43 for a day room in Indianapolis.

Booking The Slot

The platform states that day-use inventory is limited by design, because one room can only host so many daytime slots in a day, and that the best slots at the best properties fill first, especially weekday afternoons and airport-area locations. Feb. 27, 2027 is a Saturday, so the pressure on that date sits away from the weekday pattern the platform names.

One platform page states that pool, gym, Wi-Fi and shower access are included in a day-use booking. A second page states that Wi-Fi, a proper desk, gym access, pool access and parking can all vary by property. Check the individual listing before confirming, and fix the slot once the host publishes the session order.
