GEMS runs eight days in Miami

Miami Film Festival GEMS opens Thursday October 29 and closes Thursday November 5, 2026. The fall showcase is in its 13th year.

Saturday October 31 carries 11 screenings. Sunday November 1 carries 12. Both days run across the same four venues.

The four are The Bill Cosford Cinema at 5030 Brunson Drive and Coral Gables Art Cinema at 260 Aragon Avenue, both in Coral Gables, and Koubek Center at 2705 Southwest 3rd Street and Silverspot Cinema at 300 Southeast 3rd Street, both in Miami.

What a screening costs

A general screening lists at $16.50, or $14.50 for members. A Centerpiece lists at $20, or $17 for members. Special screenings run $25 to $82.

Each ticket carries a $2 to $10 processing fee. One general screening therefore lands between $18.50 and $26.50.

Opening Night carries The Debut and a pre-reception at $55. Closing Night carries Club Kid at $25.

The Saturday pair

Tangles starts at 3pm at Coral Gables Art Cinema. The Love Witch, a 35mm tenth-anniversary screening, starts at 8:30pm at the same address.

Five and a half hours sit between the two starts. One venue covers both.

The day opens earlier. Elsinore starts at 12:15pm at The Bill Cosford Cinema, and both Coral Gables venues sit inside the same city.

The Sunday pair

Behemoth! starts at 3:30pm at The Bill Cosford Cinema. Ink starts at 7:15pm at Koubek Center.

Three hours and 45 minutes separate the two starts, and the room has to hold from the afternoon through the late show.

What a day room has to cover

A Saturday room needs a window that opens before 12:15pm and closes after 8:30pm. A Sunday room needs 3:30pm to 7:15pm plus the drive between Coral Gables and Miami.

hotelSlots books day rooms in four slot names: morning, afternoon, evening and overnight. The platform also describes a 3-hour slot, a 6-hour slot and a full-day slot that typically runs 8am to 6pm.

A full-day slot covers the Saturday programme. Afternoon and evening slots cover the Sunday pair.

Florida sits outside hotelSlots' coverage

hotelSlots serves the United States, excluding California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington. The platform's help page states Florida's exclusion on seller-of-travel registration and a surety bond.

Its directory carries no Miami page, and its Florida path returns a 404. A Miami day room is arranged with the property directly.

The platform's published figures read up to 75 percent off a nightly rate on its home page and 40 to 60 percent below an overnight rate on its help page. A Miami property quotes its own figure.

O Cinema holds the beach slot

O Cinema at 1130 Washington Avenue is the festival's only Miami Beach venue. GEMS gives it one screening, Bedford Park on Thursday November 5 at 6pm.

Neither weekend day uses the beach venue. A guest who wants the beach room books it against that Thursday slot.

The booking order

Buy the screening tickets first. The Saturday pair needs two tickets, and the $2 to $10 fee applies to each one.

Then fix the room against the film clock. An 8:30pm start needs a window that holds past 8:30pm, so confirm the end hour in writing.

The festival sells to capacity and opens a rush line roughly 15 minutes before a start. A guest with a room booked and no ticket takes the rush line instead of a seat.
