Two days, two closing hours

The Food Northwest Process & Packaging Expo 2027 runs January 13 and 14 in Hall A at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The organizer publishes the hall hours in the 2027 Exhibitor Prospectus: January 13, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and January 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Move-out runs January 14 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and January 15 from 8 a.m. to noon. Move-in takes January 11 and 12, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The venue card carries a different line: show times Wed-Thurs, January 12-14, 2027, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. January 12, 2027 is a Tuesday, and the card's own date tag reads January 13 to 14. Use the prospectus hours for the two-day run.

The gap a Thursday close opens

Wednesday runs to 4 p.m. Thursday runs to 3 p.m. A supplier who works both days and flies out Thursday evening loses the room at checkout, hours before the aircraft. The building stays open for move-out until 10 p.m., and a standard checkout sits near noon.

The airport is eight miles from the doors. TriMet MAX stops 300 times a day at the front entrance, so the afternoon gap is a real interval.

The organizer names one hotel

Food Northwest sends attendees to the Hyatt Regency Portland, 375 NE Holladay Street, and prints one deadline: make reservations before December 18, 2026 to hold the special room rates. The page carries no rate.

What a day-use booking needs

Day-use inventory in Portland is sold property by property with its own window, so the booking rests on four figures. Ask for the window start and end, the checkout time, the total including any booking fee, and the cancellation terms.

Fit the window to the flight. A window that ends at 3 p.m. covers the floor close. A window that runs to 6 p.m. covers the walk-out and the ride to the airport.

Compare the day rate with the overnight it replaces. Engine's index puts Portland at $124 a night across 1.2 million par-rate observations logged between May 2024 and April 2026, and January averages $109, the cheapest month in its table. A day room priced above a January overnight buys nothing.

The badge prices

The organizer's fee page lists three admission lines: food or beverage processor at $49 with validation required, supplier member at $79 and non-member supplier at $149. The opening reception happy hour is $49. Registration closes January 14, 2027.

The work surface the building provides

Know Before You Go states complimentary Wi-Fi in all lobbies and meeting rooms, then prices the paid tier at $12 per day for Basic service and $50 per day for Business Class, charged to a credit card, with support on site. The page prints no bandwidth figure for either tier.

Three LocketGo locker banks take bags. The venue describes them as salmon-colored and reservable with a mobile device and a credit card, at the MLK Lobby near the main entrance, the Holladay Lobby at the north end and the Ginkoberry Concourse at the south end.

Parking and payment

The garage holds 800 spaces at $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges, and the venue charges $15 to $25 at entry during events. The garage opens at 6 a.m. Overnight parking is prohibited.

The building is cashless. Five ATMs stand inside, plus a reverse ATM down the short hallway to the left of the welcome desk in the MLK Lobby. Two Mamava wellness suites sit near the A and E meeting rooms on level 1.

Booking note

Read the window and the total on the day you book, and hold the slot against your own flight time. Rates move between reads.
