A Half-Day Hold for the Indiana Flower + Patio Show

The Indiana Flower + Patio Show runs March 13-21, 2027 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, 1202 East 38th Street, at the corner of Fall Creek and 38th Street. The show occupies Expo Hall and the West Pavilion. Every door opens at 10 a.m. across the nine days, so a single-day visit is a scheduling question.

The hours grid and the $5 window

Organizer hours run 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 13 and on Friday and Saturday, March 19 and 20. Sunday, March 14 and Sunday, March 21 close at 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, March 15 to 18, run 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The discount window sits inside the weekday grid. Monday through Thursday, March 15 to 18 only, the box office sells $5 admission after 5 p.m. Adult admission is $15 at the door and $13 online. Children aged 12 and under enter free.

Three themed days change the arithmetic. Teacher Day is Sunday, March 14, with free admission for teachers and school staff on a valid ID. Senior Day is Tuesday, March 16, free for ages 65 and over, and the show sells no online tickets for that day. Hero Day is Friday, March 19, with free admission for active military, veterans, police and fire personnel on a valid ID, plus free Fairgrounds parking.

Discounted tickets route through retail. A single adult ticket costs $7.50 at participating Menards stores in store from January 22, 2027, and the offer does not run online. Ace Hardware coupons, half off the box-office price at $7.50, reach stores from February 21, 2027.

The half-day hold near the Fairgrounds

hotelSlots books day-use rooms in four time slots: Morning 6AM-12PM, Afternoon 12PM-6PM, Evening 6PM-12AM and Overnight 12AM-6AM. A guest books one slot or combines several. A local attendee who arrives for the 5 p.m. window can hold the Afternoon slot for the show floor and the drive, or take the Evening slot for the hours after the doors close.

The hotelSlots Indianapolis directory lists 273 properties. The distances below are driving estimates measured from OpenStreetMap road data on 23 September 2026, taken from the show's address on 38th Street. Indy Hostel at 4903 Winthrop Avenue sits 1.4 miles out, about 6 minutes. The show's own accommodation list names two hotels further north, and the directory carries both. Hampton Inn Indianapolis-N.E./Castleton at 6817 East 82nd Street is 8.3 miles out at about 16 minutes. Candlewood Suites Indianapolis NE at 8111 Bash Street is 8.3 miles at about 16 minutes. The Fairgrounds also runs its own campground on site at $40 plus tax per day with hook-up.

The hotelSlots remote-work page carries the productivity case for the same slot: high-speed Wi-Fi, a desk with ergonomic seating, gym and coffee breaks between calls, and privacy for calls. A local attendee taking calls between the show floor and the drive home holds the Afternoon slot for the work and the shower, then leaves the room for the 5 p.m. window.

The Plant Market, the beer garden and the tour hours

The Plant Market sits at the entrance to the West Pavilion and carries fresh flowers, plants and gardening supplies. The County Materials Beer & Bloom Garden is in the West Pavilion, built by Lakeshore Hardscapes, and serves craft beers, domestics, wine and spirits on a patio. Purdue Extension Master Gardener volunteers answer gardening questions at Booth 506 in Expo Hall.

The guided Showcase Garden Tours cost $25 including show admission. The Show Info page lists 11 a.m. on Monday and Thursday and 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday for the 2027 dates. The Show Features page lists a 9 a.m. start on its Monday and Thursday rows and carries 2026 date labels for the same four tours. Confirm the hour at the box office or the show office before buying the tour.

The venue amenities

The show lends standard 18-inch wheelchairs free of charge on a first come, first served basis. Strollers are allowed. The show asks guests to leave pets at home. Parking is $10 per vehicle per day, in the Expo Hall parking lot and in the infield, and the Fairgrounds asks drivers to turn on flashers for building drop-off. Will Call sits in the show office at the northeast corner of the West Pavilion. A guest who wants a second day can ask the show manager at the show office.

Booking the slot

hotelSlots is free to use, with no booking fees, and the guest pays the hotel directly for the slot. The platform's day-use page lists pool, gym, Wi-Fi and shower access as included. Its daycation article states that a daytime reservation carries the same bed, shower and amenities as an overnight stay. Its short-stay guide states that Wi-Fi, a desk, gym access, pool access and parking can all vary by property, so confirm the extras on the listing you choose. The same guide states that the best slots at the best properties fill first, with weekday afternoons among them.
