The Two Forum Days
Double Exposure runs Nov. 5 to 8, 2026, in Washington. The festival holds its public forum at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center, 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
Friday, Nov. 6, opens at 9:30 a.m. with Rights from the Ground Up. Four sessions follow: 9:30 to 10:30, 10:35 to 11:35, 12:15 to 1:15 and 1:15 to 2:30. A masterclass runs 2:45 to 4 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 7, carries four sessions at the same address. Two start at 10 a.m. and close at 11:15 and 11:20. Two start at 11:30 a.m. and both close at 12:45 p.m. Two more Saturday sessions run at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, 901 G Street NW, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
After the 12:45 Close
The afternoon belongs to screenings. An Unknown Substance screens at 1 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, where short films are free to the public. Feature films run at the U.S. Navy Memorial, 701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, in the Burke Theater.
Saturday's 9 p.m. block carries Surrendered, Casa Mia and Artificial Love, with a post-screening conversation with the filmmakers. The festival closes on Sunday, Nov. 8, with My Underground Mother at 7 p.m. at the same theater. The Oligarch and the Art Dealer opens the run on Nov. 5 at 6:15 p.m. at the Bloomberg Center, with a reception after the screening.
The Organizer's Own Lodging Terms
The organizer's travel page names two hotels with negotiated group rates: Kimpton Hotel Monaco DC at 700 F Street NW and Eaton DC at 1201 K Street NW. The page publishes no nightly rate for either. It states that DC charges a 15 percent tax on all hotel bookings, and it advises booking early.
Neither the organizer's lodging page nor any day-use card states a checkout time. A room held into the evening is a question for the property, and the published terms are the fixed windows.
What the Day Windows Cover
Day-use listings on dayuse.com for Washington returned 20 priced properties at 16:05 UTC on 23 October 2026, seven of them inside the District. The day rates ran from $75 to $169 and averaged $105.90. Every card but one states a booking fee between $5 and $9.
For a Saturday that closes at 12:45 p.m. and resumes at 9 p.m., the afternoon windows matter. The AC Hotel Washington DC Convention Center sells 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at $104. The Beacon Hotel sells 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at $96. The Melrose Georgetown Hotel sells 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at $111. Le Meridien Washington, DC, The Madison sells 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at $140.
The Viceroy Washington DC sells 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at $144, the latest District window in the set. The other four end at 8 p.m. or earlier. The latest slots in the full 20-property set end at 11 p.m., and they sit outside the city: the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Laurel with 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. at $76, the EVEN Hotel Rockville with 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at $114 and the Staybridge Suites Washington D.C. Greenbelt with 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at $106.
Distances Between the Rooms and the Screens
The Bloomberg Center and the Navy Memorial sit 0.18 miles apart, straight-line, on Pennsylvania Avenue. The AC Hotel Washington DC Convention Center sits 0.69 miles from the Bloomberg Center and 0.64 miles from the Navy Memorial. The Beacon Hotel sits 1.43 and 1.27 miles away. The Melrose Georgetown Hotel sits 1.94 and 1.76 miles away. Le Meridien Washington, DC, The Madison sits 1.21 and 1.05 miles away. The Viceroy Washington DC sits 1.31 and 1.17 miles away.
What the Passes Already Include
An All-Access pass costs $200. A Friday pass or a Saturday pass costs $100 each. Panels and workshops alone cost $95, the film-only pass costs $85, a five-film pass costs $50, a senior or military film pass costs $75 and a single forum session costs $25.
The All-Access pass, the DX Academy passes and the Regular Student pass include a light breakfast on Nov. 6 and Nov. 7. The Friday and Saturday passes carry forum access and screenings on their own day. Passholders hold a reserved seat at each screening up to 15 minutes before the show, and the organizer sets aside part of every screening on a pay-as-you-go basis over a $5 minimum.
Pass cancellations run through Friday, Oct. 30, with a $50 processing fee. Tickets are non-refundable.
The Half Day Against the Night
An afternoon window at $96 to $144 buys five to seven hours and ends between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. A night at the Kimpton or the Eaton buys the whole night at a rate the organizer does not publish, and DC adds 15 percent tax on top.
The 9 p.m. Navy Memorial block falls outside four of the five District windows. The Viceroy window ends at the hour the block starts. A guest who stays for the screening needs a booking the property agrees to extend by an hour, or the night.
A guest who leaves after the afternoon sessions has a room for the hours between the forum close and the evening. That is the window this piece prices.
