Slam Dunk Cheer and Dance Championships runs March 6 and 7, 2027, in Hall D at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. The venue card carries the date, the hall, a registration requirement and the organiser contact, 253.339.0710, and no hours block. The clock sits on the flyer behind the card's Event website button.

The Clock Behind the Button

Pacific Coast Cheer Co. Brands publishes the weekend on a single flyer. Doors open 7:30 AM both days. Warmups begin 8:00 AM both days. Competition starts 8:30 AM both days. Awards run throughout the day.

The flyer gives no closing time, and the venue card gives none either. The page's structured data carries a hall booking from 06:00 on Saturday March 6 to 23:59 on Sunday March 7. That is the building's reservation.

Tickets work one way here. "Tickets to be purchased upon arrival to the venue ticket booth," the flyer reads. The card's Buy tickets button opens an image with its own line: "Pre-sale is not available for this event." No place in the hall can be bought ahead of the weekend, so no arrival time can be fixed against a session.

One Hall, Five Bookings

Slam Dunk holds Hall D for two days. The venue calendar for March 2027 sets four other bookings beside it on Saturday March 6. Jump Dance Convention holds the Oregon Ballroom from March 5 to 7. Starpower National Talent Competition holds Halls A-A1 across March 6 and 7. "Abby's Closet" Prom Gown Giveaway holds Hall C on the day. U.S. World Open Taekwondo Championships 2027 holds Hall E on the day.

That Saturday is the busiest date on the March calendar. A family that answers a 7:30 door call and waits between a routine and an awards block holds the Holladay Lobby and the Ginkoberry Concourse in common with four other events.

The Interval a Day Room Covers

The gap runs from the 7:30 door call to whatever hour the family leaves. Breakfast lands before the doors. A uniform and a warm-up layer have to change somewhere. A parent with a laptop has two working days stacked either side of an 8:30 Sunday start.

Day-use inventory prices that interval by the time block rather than by the night. dayuse.com listed 19 priced Portland properties on a 20 October 2026 read, eight of them inside a straight-line mile of the venue pin at 45.528324, -122.663105.

What the Eight Cost

Jupiter Original carries the lowest day rate among the eight at $89 against a $150 nightly rate, 45 percent off, 0.49 miles out, across 10:00 to 16:00 and 17:00 to 23:00.

Royal Sonesta Portland Downtown reads $107 against $170, 42 percent off, 0.90 miles out. It is the only card in the eight with a window that opens at 7:00, and that window runs to 14:00. Other windows on the same card read 9:00 to 21:00, 10:00 to 17:00, 13:00 to 19:00 and 17:00 to 22:00.

Jupiter Next reads $123 against $209 at 0.50 miles, across 10:00 to 16:00 and 17:00 to 22:00. Staypineapple at Hotel Rose reads $112 against $450, 77 percent off, at 0.90 miles. The Nines reads $159 against $450, 67 percent off, at 0.95 miles.

Hotel Lucia runs $118 against $219, 50 percent off, at 0.89 miles, across 8:00 to 12:00, 8:00 to 15:00 and 13:00 to 17:00. Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Downtown runs $134.45 against $184.28, 32 percent off, at 0.68 miles, 9:00 to 17:00. Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland runs $135 against $230, 46 percent off, at 0.91 miles across 8:00 to 14:00, 10:00 to 17:00 and 12:00 to 19:00.

Booking fees run $6 to $10 across the eight. Treat each figure as a snapshot of the 20 October 2026 read, because these rates move inside a day.

What the Set Leaves Out

Three properties in the counselling conference's March block near the venue appear nowhere in the 19. Hotel Eastlund, the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland and the Courtyard by Marriott Portland Downtown/Convention Center sell nights through that block. A family that wants one of those three books a night and holds the room past checkout.

Inside the Building

The building sheet sets the terms for anyone working from a lobby. Complimentary Wi-Fi runs in all lobbies and meeting rooms. Basic service costs $12 per day and Business Class costs $50 per day, charged to a credit card.

Lockers come from LocketGo in three places: the MLK Lobby near the main entrance, the Holladay Lobby at the north end of the building, and the Ginkoberry Concourse at the south end. Each is reservable with a mobile device and a credit card. A garment bag leaves the shoulder for the length of a competition block.

The venue takes no cash. Five ATMs stand in the Pre-Function A, B, C and E lobbies and on the South Ginkoberry Concourse, and a reverse ATM in the MLK Lobby converts cash to a Visa card. Garage parking runs $15 for up to 18 hours, with a dynamic $15 to $25 charged at entry on event days, and the garage generally opens at 6:00 AM. Overnight parking is prohibited.

What to Book

Match the room to the door call. A 7:30 call on both Saturday and Sunday leaves two mornings uncovered, and a day-use block covers each of them without a second night. Royal Sonesta opens at 7:00, and Hotel Lucia and Kimpton Hotel Vintage open at 8:00.

Check the window against the 8:30 competition start before paying. A block that opens at 10:00 misses the first routines of the day. Then read the departure hour, because neither the flyer nor the venue card publishes a close of day.
