The Clock a Spectator Works From
The 51st Marine Corps Marathon runs on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026. The start line sits on Route 110 in Arlington. The opening ceremony begins at 7 a.m. EDT, the wheelchair field goes at 7:05, the duos at 7:07 and the open field at 7:20.
Runners Village occupies the North Pentagon Parking Lot. Runners reach it through the Pentagon and Pentagon City Metro stations. Metro opens at 5 a.m. on race morning. Shuttle buses run from 23rd Street and Crystal Drive in Crystal City to Runners Village between 4:30 and 6:30 a.m.
A spectator who rides the first bus stands on the course before the field arrives. The start is over by half past seven. The next fixed point on the published schedule is the Finish Festival, which opens in downtown Rosslyn at 8 a.m.
Where the Morning Goes
The finish line sits at the Marine Corps War Memorial. The Finish Festival runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Family link-up areas stand under 13-foot yellow towers marked with letters of the alphabet.
Return shuttles load inside the festival on Oak Street and Wilson Boulevard. They run to 23rd Street and Crystal Drive in Crystal City from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. From the 7:20 a.m. start to the first return bus is 160 minutes. The course closes at 3:05 p.m., the festival closes an hour later, and the last bus leaves at 5 p.m.
Metro carries spectators between viewing points. The Arlington Cemetery station opens at 8:30 a.m. and sits a short walk from mile 25. The Rosslyn station serves the Finish Festival. The Crystal City station covers miles 22 and 23.
What the Day Windows Cost
Day-use listings on dayuse.com for Washington returned 20 priced properties at 16:05 UTC on 23 October 2026. Seven sit inside the District, eight in Virginia and five in Maryland. The day rates ran from $75 to $169 and averaged $105.90. Every card but one states a booking fee between $5 and $9.
hotelSlots takes a request instead. A guest names the time slot and the city, and hotels answer with day rates. The site publishes no booking fee and no commission markup, and the guest pays the hotel directly for the slot. Its home page states day-use rates at 30 to 75 percent below nightly rates.
Windows That Open Before the First Bus
Day rates sell in fixed windows, and the window decides the use. The earliest slot inside the District is the Capital Hilton at 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $116, against a $329 nightly comparison. The Beacon Hotel sells 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $96 against $200. The AC Hotel Washington DC Convention Center sells 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $104 against $150.
The Westin Crystal City sells one window, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at $106 against a $169 nightly comparison. Its card carries a 42 percent discount figure and a $7 booking fee. Free event parking sits in the underground lot at 23rd and Crystal Drive, the same intersection the return shuttle serves.
That window opens at the hour the first return bus leaves Rosslyn. A spectator who rides back at 10 a.m. reaches the room by mid-morning and keeps it until 6 p.m. That covers the last bus at 5 p.m. and an hour after it.
Packet Pickup Is the Other Day That Needs a Room
Packet pickup runs inside the Health and Fitness Expo at the Building Museum across four days. Oct. 21 runs noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 22, 23 and 24 each run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Runners select a time through the bib confirmation email. Pickup does not run on race morning. A runner who lands in the morning and flies out the same evening can buy a day window for that errand as well.
The Marine Corps Marathon names Jems Hospitality the only authorized housing agent for the event. Registration for the 51st MCM is open at a standard rate of $240. The organization permits no transfers and no deferrals.
The Short Answer
A day room sells in the hours between a 7:20 a.m. start and a 10 a.m. shuttle. The earliest windows sit in the District. The window that matches the shuttle itself sits in Crystal City and runs to 6 p.m.
Buy the slot that starts when you want to leave the pavement and ends when you want to be back on it. Confirm the window with the property before you pay, because the cards publish start and end hours and no checkout term.
