The FullScale Symposium runs October 8 to October 10, 2026 at the Indiana Convention Center. The venue lists the programme in Sagamore Ballroom 1-7, posts a forecast attendance of 1,000, and publishes no arrival hour: its event page reads "Doors Open: Check event website." Confirm the daily timetable with the organiser before you build a booking around it.
The Indiana Convention Center describes the audience as attendees from across the education innovation space who are pushing for learning to happen outside traditional school walls, and to be more equitable, personalized, competency-based and future-focused. It bills the Symposium as the premiere event for next generation learning models, anytime, anywhere learning, the latest policy developments to enable the future, research and best practices around innovations, and trends around future-focused education transformation.
Three days, and the case for one
October 8 is a Thursday, October 9 a Friday, and October 10 a Saturday. A three-day programme on those dates asks most visitors for a three-night booking. A single day of it is a common compromise. That single day changes the room arithmetic. You arrive in the morning, you sit in sessions and walk the exhibition floor through the afternoon, and you want a shower, a rest and a desk before the drive home.
A day room as a base between sessions
hotelSlots sells rooms in four time slots: Morning 6AM-12PM, Afternoon 12PM-6PM, Evening 6PM-12AM, and Overnight 12AM-6AM. You can book one slot or combine several for full-day coverage. The platform's glossary defines a day-use room as a hotel room booked for daytime hours, typically 6 to 8 hours, without an overnight stay. It states that day-use guests get the same room types and amenities as overnight guests, including Wi-Fi, television, bathroom and room service, with duration and price as the differences.
For a one-day attendee, the Afternoon slot covers the gap between the last session and an evening departure. The Evening slot covers a late finish.
Working between sessions
The platform markets the same booking as workspace. Its remote-work page promises "a quiet, professional space with reliable Wi-Fi, away from home distractions," business-grade internet, a desk with ergonomic seating, and privacy for calls. Its day-pass article frames the room as "a focused office with fast Wi-Fi, a real desk, and a clean shower between calls." Its short-stay guide puts a practical number on it: "A four-hour afternoon window is perfect for a shower, a nap, and a focused stretch of work."
Pool, gym, and the eight-hour day
hotelSlots states on its day-use page that pool, gym, Wi-Fi and shower access are included. Its day-pass article is more specific about why that matters to a daytime guest: a day pass "puts them within reach for a fraction of a typical nightly rate."
The platform publishes a second reading on the same question. Its short-stay guide states of Wi-Fi, a proper desk, gym access, pool access and parking that they "can all vary" by property. Check the individual listing before you book. A downtown property with a pool and a fitness centre turns a conference day into a swim and a workout as well as a shower.
What a slot costs in Indianapolis
Dayuse publishes an average day-room price of $87.43 in Indianapolis and advertises up to 75% off an overnight stay. Engine, a business travel platform, puts the Indianapolis average nightly rate at $128 across 1.2 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. Its monthly figures run $117 for September, $134 for October and $158 for May, a 32% swing across the year, with Indianapolis ranking 39 of 50 markets and 14% below the $148 median. October sits $6 above the annual average, so a day slot in symposium week compares against a higher-than-average nightly rate.
hotelSlots states on its home page that day rates typically run 30-75% less than the nightly rate. Its day-use page says "40-60% less than overnight," and its editorial guide describes a day slot at roughly 40% to 60% of the nightly figure. All three are the platform's own published bands.
Where to look downtown
The Indiana Convention Center sits at 100 South Capitol Ave. Its own figures count 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis, 4,700 of them connected to the building by skywalk, and it notes that more than half of downtown's rooms sit within blocks of the venue. The skywalk system is event-dependent, with a published rule of thumb of lockdown around 11:00 p.m. and reopening around 6:00 a.m.
The hotelSlots Indianapolis directory lists 273 properties. Downtown entries include the Conrad Indianapolis at 50 West Washington Street, the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis at 1 S Capitol Ave, the JW Marriott Indianapolis at 10 South West Street, the Omni Severin Hotel at 40 West Jackson Place, Le Méridien Indianapolis at 123 South Illinois Street, the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites at 120 West Market Street, Embassy Suites by Hilton Indianapolis - Downtown at 110 West Washington Street, and Staybridge Suites Indianapolis Downtown-Convention Center at 535 S. West Street.
Booking notes
hotelSlots is free to use and charges no booking fee; you pay the hotel directly for the slot. Indiana carries no day-use restriction. The platform states that it cannot process booking requests from residents of, or for travel to, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington, and it names state travel laws as the reason.
