The gate opens at ten, the street closes at six
The 63rd Annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival runs Presidents Day weekend, February 13, 14 and 15, 2027. Saturday and Sunday run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival prints those three lines on its home page, its event information page and its FAQ.
Three daytime windows, three different days of walking.
Seven hours on Monday
Saturday and Sunday give eight hours each. Monday gives seven. The shortest of the three windows is the one a visitor can cover with a single morning booking and still walk the whole show.
That arithmetic decides the pitch. A remote worker books a morning room, finishes the calls, drives in and spends the afternoon on the pavement. A local visitor does the same thing without the drive home at the end of it.
The site runs along three streets
The address is 2700 S. Bayshore Drive, Miami, FL 33133. The grounds run along McFarlane Road, South Bayshore Drive and Pan American Drive, south of downtown Miami and beside Biscayne Bay.
Driving in, the festival recommends 836 West and then 27th Avenue south. Its page names I-95 southbound at Exit 1A, Rickenbacker Causeway, as the congested turn. Parking comes from garages, on-street meters and private lots around the Grove.
A site spread over three streets means every step between the car, the booth and the next block is walked twice by the end of the day.
What the gate will not let through
The FAQ sets a bag ceiling of 12 by 12 inches. Outside food, liquor and beverages are barred, with an exception for a doctor's note or religious reasons. Glass bottles and cans are barred. Personal chairs, folding chairs, tents, large umbrellas and shade structures are barred. Wagons are barred unless a child is riding in one. Pets are barred apart from service animals wearing a vest.
The festival is a juried outdoor art festival. Its FAQ states that it does not accept craft vendors.
Read that list as a packing instruction. A chair cannot come in. A cooler cannot come in. A bag over 12 inches cannot come in. A morning room holds all three and hands back a 12-inch bag at the gate.
The nearest day rooms sit outside the Grove
The Dayuse Miami page read on 18 October 2026 prints a city average day rate of $113.76 across 21 priced cards. None of the 21 sits inside Coconut Grove.
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Miami Airport South lists $129 with windows at 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., noon to 6 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The straight-line distance to the gates reads 4.0 miles, and the routing check reads 5.75 road miles and 12 minutes.
YVE Hotel Miami, in Downtown Miami, lists US$86 against a US$220 comparative rate, 64 percent lower, with windows at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. It reads 4.3 straight-line miles, 5.4 road miles and 10 minutes from the gates.
Clarion Inn & Suites Miami International Airport lists $80 against $150, 51 percent lower, on a single 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. window. It reads 6.1 straight-line miles out.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Miami-Kendall lists $95 against $249, 65 percent lower, with windows at 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and noon to 6 p.m. It reads 12.4 straight-line miles, 13.87 road miles and 24 minutes.
The Grove hotels the festival names
The festival accommodations page links six preferred hotel partners: The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami; The Mutiny Hotel Coconut Grove; Mr C Coconut Grove; Mayfair House Hotel & Garden; Arya; and Courtyard Miami Coconut Grove. The page describes the group as steps or minutes from the grounds.
None of the six appears among the priced day-use cards read for this piece. A Grove partner hotel puts a guest on foot at the gate. A day-use card puts a guest in a room for the morning at 4 to 12 miles out and a 10 to 24 minute drive.
Morning room, afternoon festival
Saturday and Sunday, the plan holds together. Book the 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fairfield window, work until one, drive twelve minutes and reach the gate inside the 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. day. Book the 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. YVE window instead and the room covers the gate through the close from a Downtown base.
Monday closes two hours earlier. The YVE 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. window covers the whole of it with an hour to spare. The Fairfield noon to 6 p.m. window covers five of the seven hours, so Monday rewards a 10 a.m. start.
Florida sits on the restricted list
hotelSlots covers 46 U.S. states with 103,857+ hotels offering day-use rooms. Its own FAQ carries this line: A few states (FL, HI, IA, WA) restrict day-use bookings under state travel laws. Its seller-of-travel page, last updated October 18, 2026, states that the platform cannot process hotel booking requests from residents of or for travel to Florida until its Florida Seller of Travel registration is obtained, and routes questions to compliance@hotelhuddle.com.
The rates and windows above come from dayuse.com, which publishes the city average and each property window. Confirm the state rule and the checkout hour before any card is charged.
The order to book in
Pick the day first: February 13, 14 or 15, 2027. Then pick the hours against the gate. A Saturday or Sunday visit wants a window that opens at or before 10 a.m. A Monday visit wants one that runs past 5 p.m.
The festival publishes no gate price on the home page, the event information page or the FAQ. Ticketing support runs at (877) 253-8717, so settle the ticket before the room.
Then book the window and get the checkout hour in writing.
