The Three Days and the Crowd

The American Dental Association Scientific Sessions run 8 to 10 October 2026 at the Indiana Convention Center, 100 South Capitol Ave. The venue event page forecasts 4,000 attendees and notes that the ADA 2026 Scientific Session runs alongside the Indiana Dental Association Center for Excellence program. The page publishes no room assignment and no arrival hour, so confirm the day schedule and the hall with the organiser before booking a slot around it.

8 October is a Thursday, 9 October a Friday and 10 October a Saturday. The venue calendar lists the FullScale Symposium in the building on the same three days. Two programmes share one building over a single weekend, and that raises the value of anything booked ahead of the date.

One Day at the Convention Center

A scientific session plus a dental trade show fills a day. Registration, lectures, the exhibition floor and the walk between halls take the working hours. A local attendee who picks a single day of the programme needs a base for eight hours, with the drive home either side of it. A day room covers that base.

A Day Room as the Base

hotelSlots sells rooms by time slot: Morning 6AM-12PM, Afternoon 12PM-6PM, Evening 6PM-12AM and Overnight 12AM-6AM. One slot or several can be combined for full-day coverage. The platform describes a day-use room as a block of about six to eight hours and states that day-use guests receive the same room types and amenities as overnight guests, including WiFi, television, bathroom and room service.

The Afternoon slot covers the stretch between the morning sessions and an early evening departure. The Evening slot covers the session that runs late. Neither charges for the night.

Working Between Sessions

The same booking doubles as workspace on an exhibition-floor day. hotelSlots markets its rooms as "a quiet, professional space with reliable Wi-Fi — away from home distractions", with business-grade internet, a desk and ergonomic seating, and privacy for calls. Its day-pass article describes a room that works as "a focused office with fast Wi-Fi, a real desk, and a clean shower between calls". Its short-stay guide puts a four-hour afternoon window at "a shower, a nap, and a focused stretch of work".

A laptop, a case and a change of clothes need somewhere to sit for the day. A booked room holds them.

Gym and Pool After the Floor Closes

The day-use page states that pool, gym, Wi-Fi and shower access are included. The day-pass article explains the position for a daytime guest: pools, gyms, saunas and lounges "are usually reserved for overnight guests", and a day pass "puts them within reach for a fraction of a typical nightly rate". The short-stay guide states that Wi-Fi, a proper desk, gym access, pool access and parking "can all vary" by property. Both statements are the platform's own. Check the listing for the property you pick, and treat a pool and a fitness centre after a day on the exhibition floor as the case for a downtown booking.

What a Slot Costs

Engine, a business travel platform, puts the Indianapolis average nightly rate at $128 across 1.2 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. October runs $134 and September $117. The city ranks 39 of 50 markets in that dataset and sits 14 percent below the $148 median.

hotelSlots publishes two bands of its own. The home page reads day rates of 30-75 percent less than the nightly rate. The day-use page reads 40-60 percent less than overnight. Neither band carries an audit.

Where to Book Downtown

The venue counts 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis, 4,700 of them connected to the building by skywalk. Its facility guide records 4,721 rooms connected to the Center, 7,175 rooms inside a six-block radius and 4,570 committable group rooms downtown. The skywalk system is event-dependent, with a rule of thumb of lockdown near 11:00 p.m. and reopening near 6:00 a.m. A skywalk-connected property keeps the session-to-hotel trip indoors.

The hotelSlots Indianapolis directory lists 273 properties. Downtown entries in the directory carry these addresses: Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, 1 S Capitol Ave; Conrad Indianapolis, 50 West Washington Street; JW Marriott Indianapolis, 10 South West Street; Omni Severin Hotel, 40 West Jackson Place; Méridien Indianapolis, 123 South Illinois Street; Embassy Suites by Hilton Indianapolis - Downtown, 110 West Washington Street; and Staybridge Suites Indianapolis Downtown-Convention Center, 535 S. West Street.

Booking Notes

hotelSlots is free to use and adds no booking fee. You pay the hotel directly for the slot. Day-use inventory is limited, so an early request protects the slot. hotelSlots lists Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington as the states that restrict day-use bookings under state travel laws, and Indiana does not appear on that list.
