The American Counseling Association brings its 2027 Annual Conference and Expo to the Oregon Convention Center from March 11 to 13, 2027. The venue card lists the booking as March 11 to 14 in Halls C and D. The organiser prints three days of sessions and marks the meeting as the association's 75th anniversary.
Expo floor hours decide how much of that week a single day buys. Thursday, March 11 opens the floor from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., a two and a half hour window that follows a 1 p.m. opening keynote in Exhibit Hall A1/B. Friday, March 12 holds the floor open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., nine hours. Saturday, March 13 runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., eight hours.
What the floor carries on Friday and Saturday
The expo page lists five attractions inside Exhibit Hall C and D. The Connection Hub holds seating for meetings between sessions. The Wellness Center runs activities through the day. The ACA Store sells new releases and 75th anniversary merchandise and schedules author signings. The Headshot Lounge takes appointments for a professional photograph. Puppy Therapy fills a corner of the hall with animals.
Lunch on both full days runs 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. inside Exhibit Hall C/D, and the full registration covers it. The Friday lunch sits between a 9 a.m. general session in A1/B and afternoon education sessions that run to 5 p.m. The Saturday lunch sits inside a day of education sessions that start at 8 a.m. and finish at 4:30 p.m.
The Thursday window carries the smallest return. A counselor who arrives for the 1 p.m. keynote reaches the floor at 3 p.m. and leaves at 5:30 p.m. The 75th Anniversary Celebration Reception overlaps that window from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in a location the agenda lists as to be announced.
The registration arithmetic
ACA sells one registration tier. The registration page states that guests are not permitted at the Conference and Expo and that all conference attendees pay the full registration fee. A Portland counselor who wants one day on the floor buys the full conference pass.
Member registration runs $410 through December 21, 2026, $525 from December 22, 2026 to March 8, 2027, and $630 from March 9, 2027. Student, new professional and retired member rates run $315, $400 and $475 across the same three bands. Non-member registration runs $675, $775 and $875. The Learning Institutes run Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. as an add-on at $99 for members, $49 for student members and $199 for non-members, and each carries 4 continuing education hours.
The room question
Five properties hold ACA room blocks. The Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, 375 NE Holladay Street, prices at $269 per night plus tax, with a $25 daily destination fee, self-parking from $38 and a booking deadline of February 15, 2027. The Courtyard by Marriott Portland Downtown/Convention Center at 435 NE Wasco Street and Hotel Eastlund at 1441 Northeast Grand Avenue both price at $259. The Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center at 1441 NE 2nd Avenue prices at $230. The DoubleTree by Hilton Portland at 1000 NE Multnomah Street prices at $209 with a February 9, 2027 deadline.
Day-use inventory sits outside that block. The Dayuse Portland page carried 19 priced cards on the October 20, 2026 read, and the nearest of them sits under half a mile from the hall. Jupiter Original, 0.48 straight-line miles from the convention center, lists $83 against a $150 nightly comparison in windows of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Royal Sonesta Portland Downtown, 0.91 miles out, lists $100 against $170, with a 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. window among its five. Hotel Lucia, 0.89 miles out, lists $110 against $219 in windows that include 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jupiter Next, 0.51 miles out, lists $115 against $209 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Nines, 0.96 miles out, lists $149 against $450 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The window decides the floor hours. The Jupiter Original slot runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and covers six of the nine Friday hours for $83. The Royal Sonesta slot runs 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and covers six, and it opens two hours before the 9 a.m. general session. Hotel Lucia runs 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $110 and covers seven. The Nines runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $149 and covers eight.
Divided by floor hours, Jupiter Original costs $13.83 an hour, Royal Sonesta $16.67, Hotel Lucia $15.71 and The Nines $18.63.
Before the doors open
The Oregon Convention Center runs cashless, and the parking booths take cards and touchless payment only. The garage holds 800 spaces and opens at 6 a.m., charges $15 for up to 18 hours, and applies a dynamic rate of $15 to $25 at entry on event days. The MAX light rail stops 300 times a day at the front door, and the Streetcar A Loop arrives every 15 minutes. Complimentary Wi-Fi covers the lobbies and meeting rooms, with a paid basic tier at $12 per day and a business tier at $50. LocketGo lockers sit in the MLK Lobby, the Holladay Lobby and the Ginkoberry Concourse, and two first aid rooms sit in the Exhibit Hall A Lobby and outside Exhibit Hall E.
The date that matters for a Friday visit is December 21, 2026, the last day of the $410 member band. The hall hours hold through March.
