Three days, five venues, one pass

SEWE 2027 runs 12 to 14 February across five downtown Charleston buildings. They are The Charleston Place at 205 Meeting Street, the Charleston Marriott at 170 Lockwood Boulevard, the Gaillard Center at 95 Calhoun Street, Brittlebank Park on the Ashley River and Marion Square.

Gates run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. One general admission pass covers all five venues, every show and every demonstration. Individual event times sit on the organiser's schedule page.

What sits in each building

The Charleston Place holds the Fine Art Gallery, which the organiser describes as nearly 80 painters, plus live art demonstrations and the private previews.

The Gaillard Center holds the live animal shows, the performance hall and the artisan and craftsmen floor.

The Charleston Marriott holds the Sporting Showroom and the Beyond the Page conversation series with Modern Huntsman.

Marion Square holds the conservation partners, the cooking demonstrations and the birds of prey programme. Brittlebank Park holds the sporting and marine village on the Ashley River.

The peninsula cluster

Three of the five sites sit inside one small triangle. Marion Square sits 0.20 straight-line miles from the Charleston Visitor Center and 0.30 from the Gaillard Center. The Charleston Place to the Gaillard Center is 0.47 miles.

Two hours covers one of those buildings and the walk to a second. A reader with a 10 a.m. start can take the Fine Art Gallery at The Charleston Place and reach the Gaillard Center floor before lunch.

The waterfront pair

Brittlebank Park and the Charleston Marriott sit 0.15 straight-line miles apart on Lockwood Boulevard. The pair sits 1.53 miles from The Charleston Place.

Treat that pair as its own trip. A reader with one two-hour window picks the cluster or the waterfront.

Tickets and the January cut-off

Tier 1 pricing closes on 31 October. Tier 2 opens 1 November. Online sales stop on 25 January. From 1 February, tickets sell at four Charleston-area visitor centres and at the venue gates at gate pricing.

The three-day pass starts at $85, a Saturday pass starts at $40 and a Sunday pass costs $35. Children 10 and under enter free and need no ticket. Two adults with two children aged 10 or under buy two admissions for each day they attend.

A room between sessions

The priced day-use layer for Charleston held seven properties on 25 October, from $76 to $135.75 a room block. The median rate is $96. A booking fee of $6 sits on top of the listed rate, and $9 at Embassy Suites.

All seven sit off the peninsula. The nearest to the venue cluster is Best Western Patriots Point, 2.34 straight-line miles from the Gaillard Center and 3.94 from Brittlebank Park.

Three blocks suit a working Friday. Embassy Suites Charleston Airport publishes 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at $135.75. StayAPT Suites North Charleston publishes 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at $96. Econo Lodge Goose Creek publishes three windows, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., at $76.

The platform describes its work rooms as a quiet space with high-speed Wi-Fi, a desk and ergonomic seating, and privacy for calls. A reader taking a Friday meeting in Charleston and a Saturday at SEWE books one block for each day.

The directory alongside the priced cards

hotelSlots lists 253 properties in Charleston, and its prose block reads 96 for the area. The cards carry addresses and a request form.

The Charleston Marriott at 170 Lockwood Boulevard appears on that list and on the SEWE venue list at the same time. The directory publishes no rate, so the request form is the route to a price at any peninsula property.

What to book first

Three steps order the weekend. Buy the general admission ticket before the Tier 1 window closes on 31 October, and before online sales stop on 25 January. Confirm any individual event time on the organiser's schedule page. Book one room block for each day of attendance, with a window that starts before the gates open and ends after they close.
