31 December at Cowtown Coliseum

Buckin' New Year's Eve starts at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, 31 December 2026, at Cowtown Coliseum, 121 E Exchange Avenue, Fort Worth 76164. The ticket page prints no end time. Pyrotechnics light the arena at midnight.

The card runs bronc riding, bull riding and American freestyle bullfighting. David Lewis, Shelby Stone and Chancey Williams play live.

The night sets the day

An 8 p.m. gate and a midnight finish leave the afternoon open. A day-use room sells as its own purchase, separate from the arena ticket.

Trinity Metro runs the Orange Line as a circulator between downtown Fort Worth and the Stockyards. A $4 all-day pass covers the buses, the local trains and the on-demand rideshare service.

District self-parking runs $17.50 on a Thursday and $32.50 for 24 hours, plus sales tax and a service fee. Every lot takes cards only.

The daytime block

A 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. block covers the gap between a morning arrival and an evening gate. Six hours in the room covers lunch, a rest and a shower before a night that ends after midnight.

hotelSlots lists 255 properties in Fort Worth. The platform publishes four windows: morning, afternoon, evening and overnight. It lists day-use rates from 30 to 75 percent below the nightly rate at the same property, with $0 fees.

The 12:30 p.m. show

Cowtown Coliseum runs Legacy of the Longhorn daily at 12:30 p.m. The show closes at 1:15 p.m., and the last 15 minutes open the arena dirt for photographs with the drovers and the wagons.

Check the venue calendar for 31 December before building the afternoon around that show.

The Thursday PBR Stockyards Showcase takes doors at 6 p.m. and starts at 7:30 p.m. The Stockyards Championship Rodeo runs Friday and Saturday with a 6 p.m. door and a 7:30 p.m. start, plus a Sunday matinee with a noon door and a 1:30 p.m. start.

The morning after

Ask for a late checkout at booking. A 1 p.m. checkout keeps the room past a midnight finish.

A guest on the daytime block alone asks the desk to hold bags on 1 January. A second block that morning covers a shower before the drive home.

Four open properties inside the walk

Hotel Drover at 200 Mule Alley holds 200 rooms. Hyatt Place at 132 E Exchange Avenue, the Courtyard at 2537 N Main Street and SpringHill Suites at 2315 N Main Street complete the venue's walk-distance list.

The Stockyards Hotel at 109 E Exchange Avenue sits on that list and stands closed. The district's stay page marks it "Currently Closed for Renovation", and the hotel's own site reads "A FOREVER ICON Returning 2027".

Those addresses come from the Coliseum's preferred-hotel page.

Book the daylight window

Day-use windows go first on a holiday. Place the request now and hold the 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. window at the quoted price.

The box office runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday to Saturday. Tickets scan through the AXS Mobile ID app, so download the app before arrival and use the email address on the order.
