A 2 p.m. kickoff splits the workday
The 28th Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl kicks off Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2026 at 2 p.m. CT, 3 p.m. ET, inside Nissan Stadium. ESPN carries it nationally. The game matches a Big Ten team against an SEC team, and the SEC side sits on the east side of the stadium.
A Wednesday afternoon start leaves the morning free and the evening open. A ticket holder needs a room from late morning until the final whistle. Day-use cards sell that span as one window.
The two windows that reach the whistle
A Dayuse read of Nashville on 25 October 2026 returned 36 cards, priced $66 to $170 with a mean of $101.04. Two cards inside three miles of the stadium sell a single window from 10:00 to 18:00.
Best Western Plus Music Row, 1.45 straight-line miles out, lists $112 all-in against $200 nightly, 48 percent off. Millennium Maxwell House, 2.23 miles out, lists $76 all-in against $159 nightly, 56 percent off.
The Nashville Reserve is the closest card in the set at 0.82 miles. It lists $160 with three windows: 8:00 to 14:00, 10:00 to 18:00, and 16:00 to 23:00.
The cards that close early
Holiday Inn Express Nashville Downtown - Broadway sits 0.90 miles out at $115 all-in against $270 nightly, 60 percent off, with a window of 10:00 to 17:00. Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown Capitol View sits 1.15 miles out at $160 all-in and closes at 15:00.
A window that ends at 18:00 still holds the room when the game ends. Prices and windows move with the date, so read the card on the day you book.
The walk over Woodland Street Bridge
The stadium transportation guide labels the Woodland Street Bridge the route recommended for fastest access and names the Korean Veterans Blvd Bridge and the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge beside it. The bowl FAQ places Woodland north of the stadium and Korean Veterans south of it. Both pages carry the same caution: construction can alter a pedestrian route, so follow posted signage.
For a car, the bowl FAQ names two rideshare points: Interstate Drive between Woodland Street and Shelby Avenue, and Crutcher Street between S 2nd Street and S 3rd Street. The stadium guide adds Gay Street at the north end across the Woodland Street Bridge, plus more than a dozen zones on the downtown side of the river.
The bag rule sets the room's job
Nissan Stadium applies the NFL clear bag policy to every event on the campus. A clear bag runs 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches or smaller, in any style from a cinch sack to a gallon bag. A non-transparent bag inside it can be no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches, and security still searches it. Lockers for oversized bags rent outside Gates 3 and 9 from $10, and the stadium confiscates unattended items.
The bowl's own list bans video cameras, coolers, ice chests, cans, bottles, weapons, fireworks, strollers, umbrellas, banners and noisemakers. Cameras and binoculars enter, and their cases stay outside.
The building takes no cash
Nissan Stadium accepts credit card and mobile payment at every vendor, stand, bar, parking point and retail location. Cash converts at the reverse ATM behind section 124. Convert before the gate queue.
Parking is a pre-purchase
The bowl FAQ sends drivers to Nissan Stadium's partner PMC to buy parking ahead. The stadium transportation page states that on-site parking for Titans games is sold out with no day-of sales on campus, and points to PMC lots bookable through the campus map until they open. Accessible parking needs a pass bought in advance, first come, first served.
Tickets are not on sale
The bowl FAQ answers the ticket question with one line: tickets for the 2026 Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl are not currently available. Participating teams and ticket details come in the months ahead. Every sale is final, with no refunds and no exchanges.
The bowl office answers at (615) 743-3130 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CST, and ticket questions go to tickets@musiccitybowl.com.
What the game is worth to the city
The bowl puts the 2025 edition at more than $38.2 million in economic impact and third in attendance among bowls outside the College Football Playoff. It counts nearly $450 million in total impact since its inception and almost 1.5 million fans across 27 years.
Nissan Stadium holds 68,000 seats on 105 acres on the east bank of the Cumberland River. The bowl calls this one of the last major games in the current building, and Nashville's new stadium next door is projected to open in early 2027.
The booking order
Watch for the ticket on-sale date first. Then take a day room whose window closes at 18:00 or later, which covers the game and the walk back. Then settle the route: the Woodland Street Bridge from a downtown room, a rideshare zone from anywhere else.
The hotelSlots directory lists 222 Nashville hotels to compare and request. The cards carry addresses and star ratings with no rate printed, so the day figure comes from the market listing and the request confirms the window.
