Two starts, one finish
The St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Washington DC runs Saturday, 20 March 2027. The 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. at Constitution Avenue NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The half marathon starts at 8 a.m. at Constitution Avenue and 14th Street NW. Both finish at 4th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, in front of the Capitol.
The 5K carries a one-hour limit. The half carries four hours. The course page puts average race-day air temperature at 48F, or 9C.
The morning the streets close
Most road closures and detours run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The traffic page states that streets reopen on a rolling basis as the last participant passes and course support materials come down.
The finish line festival runs 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The finisher concert sits on the same footprint.
Gear check for the half sits on Constitution Avenue NW between 9th and 10th Streets. UPS trucks carry the bags to the finish, where runners collect them on Constitution Avenue NW between 6th and 7th Streets. The 5K gear check sits on Constitution Avenue between 6th and 7th Streets.
The 2026 race-week page lists one cutoff on the half. A runner short of mile 3.9, at Rock Creek Parkway and Virginia Avenue, at 9:55 a.m. walks the shortened line. The shortening is 1.7 miles. The finish line stays open to that runner. The 2027 final-information page is not published yet.
A shower, a desk, an afternoon flight
A runner off the course at 10:30 with a 4 p.m. flight from DCA holds five hours and no door to change behind.
A day room covers the gap. hotelSlots sells four slots: Morning 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., Afternoon 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Evening 6 p.m. to 12 a.m., Overnight 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. The day rate runs 30 to 75 percent below the property's nightly rate. The site charges no booking fee.
The Washington page listed seven District properties on 24 October 2026. Each figure below is the card's all-in day rate, with the booking fee the card names against a nightly comparison:
The Beacon Hotel, $96, a $6 fee on $200. AC Hotel Washington DC Convention Center, $104, a $5 fee on $150. Melrose Georgetown Hotel, $111, a $7 fee on $199. The windows are a set on each card. Beacon runs five, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through to 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Capital Hilton runs three, the earliest opening at 7 a.m. Le Meridien runs three, the latest closing at 8 p.m. Sofitel runs one, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. window covers a shower, a change of clothes and a desk through the afternoon. A 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. window covers a late departure.
What the race hotels charge

Two cautions on the source
The race-week page still prints San Jose hotel and venue details in its Where To Go block. The schedule page carries a May 2026 update stamp and a note that the event schedule is subject to change.
The start times, the finish line and the closure window come from the 2027 schedule page, the 2027 course page and the 2027 traffic page.
