The show runs on a fixed clock

Jack Daniel's New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash returns to Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park on Thursday, Dec. 31. The concert is free and open to the public, and organizers open the gates at 5:30 p.m. Little Big Town, The Red Clay Strays and HARDY headline the 2026 edition. Organizers say more performers will be announced. This staging is the 18th annual concert and the 10th held at the park.

The night closes at midnight, when the red Music Note drops from a 138-foot tower. Organizers reported 205,000 attendees and $39 million in direct visitor spending for the 2025 edition.

Read that clock from the day-use side. Hotel check-out lands near 11 a.m. The gates stay shut for another six and a half hours. The crowd stands outdoors once it is inside the park. The useful question for Dec. 31 is where to work, shower and change between those two times.

A slot that covers the last day of the year

hotelSlots sells morning, afternoon and full-day slots. On a show night the afternoon slot does the work. Check in at noon, take a desk for the last working hours of the year, shower, then walk to the park for the 5:30 gate. The product description on hotelslots.org lists Wi-Fi, a desk, a shower, and pool and gym access, at 40 to 60 percent below the property's overnight rate.

The Nashville directory lists 222 hotels and states fees at $0. Each booking runs one slot with a start hour and an end hour set by the property. Confirm both hours before you pay.

One request reaches 50 or more properties, and replies land in 24 to 72 hours. You pay the hotel directly, with no markup added to the rate.

The broadcast shapes the evening

CBS carries the show in two segments on Dec. 31, 8 to 10 p.m. ET and 10:30 p.m. to 1:05 a.m. ET. In Nashville that is 7 to 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to 12:05 a.m. Paramount+ Premium streams both segments live. A day slot that ends at 5 p.m. covers the first segment. A slot that runs past 9 p.m. covers the second at the park.

The evening window carries the crowd. The afternoon window leaves a walk and a meal before the gate.

The organizer's own waste programme

The organizers run four programmes on site: recycling, composting, food donation to local kitchens and nonprofits, and biodegradable confetti at midnight. WSMV's lineup report lists all four on the 2026 programme.

For a visitor the routine is short. Cans, cardboard and food waste go to the staffed stations.

What to check before booking

Ask the property two questions when you book. Confirm the slot's start and end hour, because the windows differ by hotel. Confirm whether the fee is charged at checkout or at the desk.

Dec. 31 falls on a Thursday, so the afternoon slot sits on a weekday. The park holds the crowd from 5:30 p.m. and the note drops at midnight. A slot booked by the afternoon removes the six hours between check-out and the gate.
