One five-hour block on a Saturday

Southern Living stages its Charleston holiday market inside a single five-hour block. The Holiday Market and Festive Demonstrations runs Saturday 5 December 2026, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Charleston Visitor Center, 375 Meeting Street.

The demonstrations, the seminars, the pop-up booths and the refreshments all sit inside those hours. A traveller with one free half-day in Charleston can take in the whole programme and keep the evening.

The organiser lists the event outdoors in a tented space and runs it rain or shine. A December afternoon in Charleston cools fast, so a warm layer belongs in the bag.

What the $125 Standard Pass covers

The Saturday Standard Pass costs $125. Southern Living editors, chefs, authors and Southern personalities run the live demonstrations and seminars. Pop-up booths sell gifts, seasonal treats and holiday goods.

Refreshments are inside the price. The organiser lists complimentary light bites, beer and wine.

The schedule carries no session clock for either the demonstrations or the seminars. Arrive at 10 a.m. for the programme from the start, and walk the booth floor when the crowd thins.

The Friday session is sold out

A second ticket exists for the day before. The Signature Experience runs Friday 4 December at 28 Ann Street in two sessions, 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., for $225. Each pass included the Saturday market ticket.

The registration page marked both Friday sessions sold out on 25 October. The $125 Saturday pass stayed on sale that day.

A day room for the half-day

The Charleston day-use inventory carries a geography problem for this event. The priced layer for the city held seven properties on 25 October, from $76 to $135.75 a room block. The median rate is $96. A booking fee of $6 sits on top of the listed rate, and $9 at Embassy Suites.

All seven sit off the peninsula. The nearest is Best Western Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, 2.6 straight-line miles from the Visitor Center on the far side of the Ravenel Bridge.

Six of the seven publish at least one block that spans the 10 a.m. start and the 3 p.m. close. Quality Inn Coliseum runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at $81. Best Western Patriots Point runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at $85. Embassy Suites Charleston Airport runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at $135.75. StayAPT Suites North Charleston runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at $96. Econo Lodge Goose Creek runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at $76. Comfort Inn and Suites Northwoods runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at $100.

Comfort Inn and Suites Charleston Airport publishes two blocks at $100, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Only the second covers the market. Day-use pricing moves with the date, so re-read the property page on the booking day.

Three logistics for the morning

Tickets arrive by email. The organiser sends each ticket to the address given at checkout, and no page names a will-call desk at the Visitor Center. Carry the email open on a phone.

The door rule is 21 and older. The registration page applies the age limit to Friday and Saturday alike. A group with a reader under 21 needs a different plan for the market.

Parking is unpublished. The organiser says event parking information will arrive closer to the date, and the event page carries no garage, no lot and no rate. Keep the arrival plan loose until that note lands.

Accessibility and the second address

The organiser commits to sharing accessibility details in advance and takes specific needs by email at southernlivingeventteam@people.inc. The Friday venue at 28 Ann Street is a separate building from the Visitor Center on Meeting Street, so the two days carry two arrival plans.

Building the half-day around it

The Visitor Center sits 0.20 straight-line miles from Marion Square and 0.33 from the Gaillard Center. The afternoon after the market runs on foot.

Book the block to start at or before 10 a.m. for a change before the market. Book it to end at or after 3 p.m. for a change after. A reader holding the 4 p.m. block at Quality Inn Coliseum, or the 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. block at Comfort Inn Airport, holds a room for the wrong half of the day.
