Sixty Days, Sixty-Four Performances
The Carolina Opry Christmas Special opens November 2, 2026 and closes December 31. The theatre's calendar lists 64 performances across 44 playing days, and 16 of those dates carry no show.
Twenty performances start at 1 p.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. The other 44 start at 7 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m. Every playing day carries the evening show.
The Matinee Dates
November carries ten: the 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 17th, 19th, 21st, 27th and 28th. December carries ten: the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 15th, 17th, 19th and 22nd. December 22 is the last matinee of the run.
December 23 through 31 sells evenings only, and the calendar closes on December 24, 25 and 26. November closes on the 4th, 8th, 11th, 15th, 18th, 22nd, 26th and 29th. December closes on the 6th, 9th, 13th, 16th and 20th.
What the 1 p.m. Start Releases
The show runs two and a half hours. A matinee ticket holder leaves the auditorium at 3:30 p.m. with the evening free. The same production plays the same stage at 7 p.m., and that audience arrives three and a half hours after the matinee ends.
A midday block fits a trip with a fixed dinner, a second show, or a family bedtime. A visitor driving home the same night leaves the lot at 3:30 p.m.
Arrival, Parking and the Main Floor
The theatre sits at 8901 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29572, at the intersection of Highway 17 Business and Bypass, next door to Pirates Voyage. The building opened in 1992. The auditorium holds up to 2,000 guests.
Parking surrounds the building on 11.5 acres. The lot takes no ticket and needs no validation.
The main floor is fully wheelchair accessible. Every seat on the main floor is reachable without a stair, and every floor seat has movable arms for a transfer from a wheelchair. Audio clarification devices are free at the box office on a first-come basis.
The FAQ recommends arriving 30 to 45 minutes before a Christmas Special performance.
Inside the Auditorium
Popcorn, candy, soft drinks, beer and wine sell at the concession stands and may be carried to a seat. Outside food and drink stay outside the building. The building is smoke-free and carries designated outdoor smoking areas.

Day-Use Cards That Cover 1 to 3:30
The hotelSlots directory lists 399 hotels in Myrtle Beach and publishes no rate on any card. The Dayuse carousel returned ten priced cards on a 24 October 2026 read. Each card carries at least one window that covers the full matinee.

Wingate by Wyndham at the Outlets sits 8.67 miles out at $75 for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Econo Lodge at the University and Suburban Studios at the University, both in Conway, sit 11 miles out at $56 for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Ellie Beach Resort carries $160 and DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront carries $165, both for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The carousel stores one coordinate pair for those two properties, so neither carries a distance here. The quoted figure is each card's lowest offer, and the booking fee of $6 to $10 sits inside it.
What to Confirm
Tickets for Calvin Gilmore productions are non-refundable. The theatre offers a transfer or rain check to guests who call at least 48 hours before the performance. The box office answers at 843.913.4000 and the call centre at 800.843.6779.
Confirm the performance time against the theatre's calendar the week of the visit. Twenty dates carry a matinee, 44 carry an evening, and 16 carry nothing.
