Why Does It Cost to Submit?

Why Is There a $2 Processing Fee?

When you submit a day-use room request on hotelSlots, a $2 processing fee is charged. We want to be transparent about why this fee exists.

We Contact Hundreds of Hotels on Your Behalf

When you submit a request, we do not just search our own database. Our team actively reaches out to hotels in your destination — sometimes hundreds of them — to find ones with available day-use time slots that match your needs. This outreach requires real time and effort.

We Want to Make Sure You Are Serious

The $2 fee helps us filter out casual browsers from serious travelers. When someone is willing to pay a small fee, it signals they genuinely need a room. Hotels take these requests more seriously, which means faster confirmations and better service.

What the Fee Covers

  • Active outreach — We contact hundreds of hotels on your behalf to find available day-use slots
  • Platform maintenance — Keeping our search, booking, and scheduling tools running
  • Customer support — Help when you need it, from booking questions to schedule changes

We Are Only Covering Our Costs

The $2 fee does not generate profit — it simply helps cover the cost of outreach. We do not mark up hotel rates, and we do not charge commissions to you. The day-use rate the hotel sets is what you pay.

How We Make Money

The processing fee covers our outreach costs, but it does not fully fund the platform. When a hotel accepts a booking connection through our platform, the hotel pays us a commission. This commission is paid by the hotel — it is never added to your booking rate. You never pay more than the day-use rate the hotel sets.

How the Fee Works

The fee is charged once per request. Whether you need a room for 3 hours or all day, the fee is $2.
